Good and bad rescue related news out of Chicago today. Two people died in the annual race to Mackinac Island, the first time in over a hundred years of the race. A crazy storm hit and a lot of the boats were really ripped apart I gather.
In happier news, this [link] went down outside my office today.
In the last half hour I have said to my cat " you are a cat" I am somewhat easily influenced by the media and cat conjunction. So far I have not said " you are a Matt" to my DH , but it could happen
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good California-legal pocket knife? The one I want seems to be out of stock, and the ones I have aren't carry legal. But I want something with a bigger blade than the one on my keychain.
That having been said, how do guys not carry bags? Where is your stuff? Do you have a TARDIS in your pants? I mean, most of my stuff is gender-neutral--is my urge to carry it (or my willingness) a chick thing? I...just, if I had to start putting that stuff in my pockets I'd feel uncomfortable, be noisy, and never want to sit down in case I broke something.
Do you have a TARDIS in your pants?
If this is true, I really ought date more.
I am exhausted and just got home. On the plus side, I have a new car. A 2012 Focus hatchback. Lots o' options. My new car and my phone are apparently best friends now, as they do stuff together with Bluetooth. Tomorrow I'll plug an iPod into one of the USB ports and use voice control to play stuff.
I seem to recall that L.A. is more restrictive than California in general, but I don't remember the details. What are the legal limits of what you are looking for in a folding knife?
Contrats, tommyrot! Pictures?
I'll have to take some tomorrow. In the meantime, you can see pictures here: [link] Mine's metallic blue.
Basically, it needs to be 3" or shorter for LA, and click shut. No fast opening like switchblades or butterfly knives. It should tend to stay close, and not have a completely spring opening mechanism.
Basically, if it's under 3" and clicks shut and doesn't spring all the way open, I think I'm good.
Congrats, tommyrot!!
ita, I think part of it is guys wear looser pants usually, so they can fit more stuff in their pockets than women can. I don't know what tight-pants'd hipsters do. And then they carry messenger bags.
