Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

I third or fourth the "sweet tea vodka=super yum with lemonade" thought

Third shower of the day. Floors clean. Struck out at HomeDespot for both things I was looking for, also at Bloodbath. Sigh.

Got my ginger-peach pie in the oven, hoping the peaches don't cook down into soup (but I expect they will).

Now for some more editing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, here's a possibly controversial thing: I'm watching Jon Stewart and Jerry Seinfeld talking about Michele Bachman's husband and how gay he seems, and I don't think it's right. For all we know, he is living a completely non-hypocritical life based on what he believes. Maybe he is gay, but doesn't act on it. (Odds on that? Probably not great, but work with me.) Maybe he married a woman and is monogamous with her because he thinks to do otherwise is a sin. I disagree with him, but I'm fine with people living their beliefs, as far as they don't hurt other people. Some dude living a sad life while married to a crazy woman doesn't actually hurt anyone else.

Yeah, that bothered me a bit too.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Well, some people might argue that trying to "cure the gay" out of others as a therapist is hurting other people.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jesse,

except for the fact that he runs a clinic to "de-gay" gay people. I don't much care for speculating - I have never seen the man, I don't give a shit - but his clinic is really odious. The things he has said about gay people are really odious.

Yeah, the clinic stuff is horrifying. Let's spend a full segment of a hugely popular show talking about that, not how he talks and dances.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'd be more concerned about targeting Mr. Bachman being in the closet except there's such a looooong history of super conservative homophobes who turn out to be themselves gay.

I can't imagine many of that kind of clinic ISN'T run by "ex gays" or whatever, but it's just not the point. And saying someone's gay because of how he talks is just homophobic.
