Shit's all sorts of different now.

And it was a CASHIER'S CHECK?? Those aren't even issued unless the bank has already RECEIVED THE CASH. That's the whole point of a cashier's check. It's like a money order that way. So incredibly wrong.

Our wings are not tired.

That is SUCH UTTER BULLSHIT. I hope that guy's lawyers WIN BIG. And I hardly ever say that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Although cashier's checks are forged and stolen all the time.

True that. But if it was a Chase cashier's check and he was a CHase bank, wouldn't that have been a bit easier to tell?

Yeah, you'd think. Mostly I'm mind-blown by the arrest. (Not that I clicked through to the article...)

Art Crawl!!!

Me too.

Also, mindblown by that promo. That official promo.

No kidding.

Oh man. I have had such a day. I cannot unwrap myself from exhaustion. I have stuff to finish, but I just can't get to it. I'm much better as a morning person than a night one.

Kat, you do more in one day than lots of people do in a week.

Or, a month.

That's kind, javachik, but not true. I think one issue I'm having is that I'm not sleeping well and it's mucking with my life.

I know, also, that I'm wearing Noah thin and some of his blowups are due to exhaustion. But he won't nap. Today, he was at soccer camp in 90 degree heat all morning. He came home and ate then wanted to go outside to play. Went for a walk with Grace and her nurse. Then he came home and I took him to Ikea's ballpit to play for the first time (it's the first time he's been tall enough).

He melted down and had a fit when it was time for him to leave. Cried like he was never going to be allowed to come back, like they were revoking his play privileges. Normally he doesn't do stuff like that, so I'm chalking it up to exhaustion.

Yesterday it was 4 hours of soccer camp + an hour swimming including lessons and he still wasn't tired.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, yeah, they totally did that with us too when we were buying the house. I mean, they didn't put us in jail. But we had a personal loan check for the land purchase. The bank said, no way, that's more money than you've ever had, must be forged, give us a cashier's check. We said, that's a hassle but okay. Our (very generous and patient) lender sent a new check, in the format they wanted. Okay, they said, now we'll need to wait ten days or two weeks or the end of the month, until the check clears. Uh, we said, we're trying to close on this land. And it's what you asked for!

The lady looked us right in the eye, shook her finger at us, and said that we were probably trying to rip them off and that's why the check was going to be held.

Yeah.

I won't tell you what bank it was, although it starts with Bank of and ends with merica. But you can bet your sweet bippy we got our personal banking out of there as soon as we could, and we're still working on getting our company banking out of there. And of course, the mortgage itself was with another bank. Which maybe was why they were being so sour, but seriously, accusing me of forgery is not the best way of maintaining my business.
