We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yay, Java!!!

Class is done for the summer--yay! Now I can have my weekends back. The schedule isn't available yet for the fall semester, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to take a weekday evening class so I can keep having both weekend days to myself.

I'm going to start adding a Saturday swim to my four/week schedule, so I'll be swimming on SMWFSa. Today, I was late enough in turning in my final exam that I had to rush over to the pool and was only able to fit in 30 laps in the 48 minutes I had before they closed the pool at 3:00. Considering that my kick is nonexistent, that was a lot more laps than I thought I'd be able to finish. I did a full 1/3 mile before taking my first short (20-second) break, and then did another 5 1/2 laps to finish a 1/2 mile before switching from my front stroke to the back stroke. If they would only let me swim five more minutes, I could have finished my mile. Darn.

Tonight, I'm going to try and finish dusting my living room, and then do one room per night this week so I can get my apartment immaculate by Thursday night and I can completely relax. My company is giving us a four-day weekend (Fri-Mon) for the Fourth, and I'm booking a 60-minutes massage and pedicure on Friday afternoon. (I'm hitting a big milestone in my weight loss early this week, so I'm rewarding myself!!)

Our wings are not tired.

I think it's clearly meant to be. After all, those evergreens have to go....

Want. To. Rip. Out. Now!!!!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Your evergreen rage makes me smile because when we were househunting, one of my biggest excitements was that we wouldn't have to have the ugly nasty tough house-pubes "foundation plantings" that were planted around every.rental.house.ever -- and of course we bought a house that had 'em, and ripping them out was second on my list. (First was the one Carolina Blue room.)

I just took some photos to put up on Facebook so that everyone can see the ugly I am talking about!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, I can't figure out what to wear tomorrow for a Meeting With Feds. Gray pants suit, or black dress with non-matching jacket over? On the one hand, I think the suit is more conservative, which is prossibly better, but on the other, I feel awesome in the dress, and I think it will be hot out.

Thoughts?

Art Crawl!!!

I went to the Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Fair with a friend.

I bought a Yak-Merino blend yarn! I'm very excited. Now . . . need to figure out what to make with it.

(They had very lovely wool/tussah silk top - but that was not something this beginning spinner is ready to tackle.)

Also: angora bunnies!

hwæt

Jesse, wear the pants suit. And if you're meeting the Feds, bring a lawyer.

Because books.

I was going to say the dress. If it's black and you look and feel good in it, go for it.

Heh. I think it will be OK.

And yeah, I guess the pants are safer in some way. Eh.
