call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

I am now the final person in my family to own a smartphone. This post is coming at you all from my shiny new iPhone 3GS. I will now most likely never not be online ever again.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Argh -- the pleather is peeling off my only purse big enough to carry a computer, so I guess I can't use it for my meeting tomorrow, huh? I guess I can put everything in the computer bag I took from the office, but I hate it. Ah well -- remind me to buy a new big-ass purse.

Our wings are not tired.

zuisa, congrats. ;)

I'm loving the smonster (and flea and Nora) New Orleans updates.

Scrappy, I don't get it, either. And I LOATHE fathers who say shit like that. And depending on the company, I'll call them out on it. (See also, "babysitting".)

Okay, pre-approval is in place. Offer has been decided. Meeting with landlady this week to actually write up the details of the purchase contract so that we can divvy up closing costs without going back and forth with counter offers. I do NOT know how you people buy houses that you don't already live in! It's stressful enough without the actual house-hunting AND moving aspects added to it. I am veddy veddy lucky. But. Still.

I can NOT wait for escrow to close so that I can go out and RIP OUT THE UGLY-ASS evergreens in front of the house. My neighbors and I are so excited.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Awesome, Javachik !!!

Consuela! Some day you need to come to Juliana's restaurant. They make Pisco sours.

Thanks, guys. I am still in shock but so far super happy. I feel like I am getting a great deal. My neighbors are all really excited too.

Scrappy, actually, I've been thinking about you a lot. I plan to steal many of the ideas you and J did with your place! And want to know as well if you can recommend good do-it-yourself books. I plan to build a fence to cut off my driveway and therefore double the size of my backyard. I love what you guys did coloring your concrete!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I think it's clearly meant to be. After all, those evergreens have to go....

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yay, Java!!!

Class is done for the summer--yay! Now I can have my weekends back. The schedule isn't available yet for the fall semester, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to take a weekday evening class so I can keep having both weekend days to myself.

I'm going to start adding a Saturday swim to my four/week schedule, so I'll be swimming on SMWFSa. Today, I was late enough in turning in my final exam that I had to rush over to the pool and was only able to fit in 30 laps in the 48 minutes I had before they closed the pool at 3:00. Considering that my kick is nonexistent, that was a lot more laps than I thought I'd be able to finish. I did a full 1/3 mile before taking my first short (20-second) break, and then did another 5 1/2 laps to finish a 1/2 mile before switching from my front stroke to the back stroke. If they would only let me swim five more minutes, I could have finished my mile. Darn.

Tonight, I'm going to try and finish dusting my living room, and then do one room per night this week so I can get my apartment immaculate by Thursday night and I can completely relax. My company is giving us a four-day weekend (Fri-Mon) for the Fourth, and I'm booking a 60-minutes massage and pedicure on Friday afternoon. (I'm hitting a big milestone in my weight loss early this week, so I'm rewarding myself!!)
