We are home, burning playlists and blasting xmas music. So many things on my list(s) today. Cabana boy cleaned the gutters though, which is wonderful.

Congratulations Erin!!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Why did so many of my students decide to write on congenital insensitivity to pain?

Because it's a plot point in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books? Actually not the first one but later.

eta: Or you know, they all saw the same documentary.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Liese - I was going to suggest Xoco but have discovered that they, like virtually every restaurant in or near the loop, are closed Sundays. So possibly The Gage, on Michigan Ave near the Art Institute (Matt still raves about their burgers) or Petterino's, which is next door to the Goodman Theater. Or I also have a groupon for an Indian place that's a little outside the loop, India House. Any of these appeal?

Alternatively, if you're out and about and spot something that looks interesting, just let me know and I'm game for anywhere.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I can't believe how fast that all was, Erin! New job tomorrow!!

I know. BOOM BOOM POW! It was a magical, lucky-as-hell stroke. After a year of searching and tons of resumes and interviews and waaaiiiittttiiiinnnggg, it was crazy. Crazy AWESOME.

I still need to read the last Larson book. Maybe over Xmas break.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm reading it now, and just don't care very much. I don't really get the huge appeal of these books.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I haven't read the books, but I did see the first movie and it's very compelling.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think it's because I mostly read crime fiction anyway, but the stuff I like is zippier.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It plays more like a cross between Twin Peaks and Silence of the Lambs than most crime fiction.
