Sue it is trashy yummy goodness: ground meat, I use turkey. half regular, half seasoned for sausage. I cannot find non-link turkey sausage down here. Half a pound to a pound of each. Cook that up with some chopped onions. Then add a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup and I think a can of water, but maybe only half a can of water. cook that all up and then add in cubes of velveeta cheese until it melts. You'll need the large velveeta log. We often make this in an electric skillet so you can just keep it warm, or transferred everything to a crock pot before adding in the cheese. Eat with tortilla chips. Best while watching football or parades.

ohhhh, nom.
Basic fyi. If using crystallized ginger in your baking, Whole Foods ginger is much better than supermarket ginger. Just spent the last hour chopping it up and it was much tougher than I'm used too. Usually it is just the stickiness that makes the process adventuresome.
Thanks to the Criminal Minds talk here earlier, I was looking through the marathon's, and I would add Minimal Loss to suggested eps. (Luke Perry, Great Reid, and TRULY KICKASS Prentiss)
And seminal for Prentiss/Reid shipping.
I normally make a lot of things from scratch for T-day but I'm physically in kinda poor shape and not in the mood. I *did* just finish making a version of the cranberry jello traditional in my mom's family, though. Except I used cranberry juice and Knox gelatin instead of flavored Jell-O. Much chopping of fresh cranberries required. I would normally use a Cuisinart but I sold mine before moving here thinking my mom had one. She does but it's like v.1 of the Cuisinart so it's as heavy as a Cadillac and not easy to use. So as hard as chopping by hand was, it was preferable to the v.1 Cuisinart.
At least I helped a bit with the T-day shopping and helped more than a bit with the T-day cleaning.
I think DRINK ALL THE BOOZE is a fine idea, Amy!
Just made cranberry sauce. Yum. I don't even like cranberry sauce usually, but this is yum. I must give credit to Plei for the suggestion to add some spices and warm it up.
Mmm, I'm gonna have to try that sausage dip.
We have to MAKE ALL THE PIES. And I have to make MOAR SAUCE.
I am KICKING myself for not putting a dash of Drambuie in the cranberry sauce last night. Ah, well. Next year!

Ah see, now you aim for perfection. Me? I'm just happy to have made something that tastes good. But you did inspire me, so thanks.
Nothing~ma to your mom, msbelle.
Tonight's turkey & dressing both turned out great, and now I'm hoping that the cooking gods remain with me until my margarita pie is done.
