American sucks, but the suckage is generally of the infuriating delayed/overbooked/lost luggage variety rather than the worrying switch-planes-due-to-mechanical-problems suckage you get with AirTran.

American looks like the only choice that has a less than six hour overnight in Florida. I'm so pissed there are no longer direct flights from LA to Kingston.

I'm not a fan. I'd rather fly United or Continental, and I've got status on Delta, but I don't think Delta has a strong presence in the Caribbean.
