Actually, I was thinking it would be sort of like a pet. You know, we could...we could name her Trixie, or Miss Kitty Fantastico, or something.

Our wings are not tired.

ZENNI! Thanks Maria!! That's the one.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

You're welcome, java. Though, IIRC, Kat was the one who turned us all on to Zenni for cheap funky glasses originally.

American sucks, but the suckage is generally of the infuriating delayed/overbooked/lost luggage variety rather than the worrying switch-planes-due-to-mechanical-problems suckage you get with AirTran.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

American looks like the only choice that has a less than six hour overnight in Florida. I'm so pissed there are no longer direct flights from LA to Kingston.

I'm trying to book tickets to go home--does American suck?

I'm not a fan. I'd rather fly United or Continental, and I've got status on Delta, but I don't think Delta has a strong presence in the Caribbean.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

This.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

People buying glasses online -- isn't it hard to gauge whether frames will look good on you? I have to try frames on a gazillion times before deciding!

I just read elsewhere a guy whining that feminism didn't include male equality.

Man, the "But what about THE MENNNNNNZZZZZZ????" thing never gets old.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Man, the "But what about THE MENNNNNNZZZZZZ????" thing never gets old.

But what if they're old menz? Won't someone think of the old menz? In the words of my older brother:

Oh, my jacuzzi runneth over
I've lost my gold-plated pens
My swimming pool's full of insects and leaves
That's the way the Mercedes Benz

Now tagless for your comfort.

Did anyone catch the new rules for leisure activity for the cast of The Big Bang Theory? So freakin' funny!

Amyth, much luck to your brother. I hope it all works out.

And to you, Zenkitty--I know what it's like to hate your job. In fact, one of my Rules to Live By* is: Life is too short to be miserable at work.

  • other rules include: "Never miss an opportunity to pee or get water." And "People are stupid." And "Sometimes people are poopyheads and you have to wear a toilet-paper hat." And, newly coined today: "Be nice to people because you never know when someone might be on Nick Mamatas' friendslist, and then you will be screwed." (Nick Mamatas is a widely-read blogger--nihilistic_kid on LJ--who is a friend of the blogger who got plagiarized by Cooks Source: he broke the story first after her LJ post.)

Anyway, someone needs to tell me what to have for dinner. Should I cook pasta? Or go to the Italianesque restaurant around the corner and get a salad and a glass of wine? Go to the pizza shop? Eat cold cereal? I Require Guidance!
