Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Much ~ma to shrft and roomate and Burrell and anyone else needy.

I am drinking a glass of wine, waiting to be picked up for a game-playing non-alcoholic night with my friend M's . Her DH is actually going out with his Alcoholic's Anoymous friends, and her brother is coming over, and we will be playing the Wii and or board games.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I'm having a quiet night in with a friend who lives around the corner, and I'm hoping I can talk her into watching Truly, Madly, Deeply, which a friend of my sister's found a dvd of used somewhere. Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson, yay!

I love Truly, Madly, Deeply! Great movie.

Liese, I'm so glad your SO made it home!

Shrift, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother.

Calli, you would totally like Shake Shack. It has basically All The Delicious Foods That Are Bad For You. B. one of the kinderqueers, calls it the Holy of Holies. [link]

To get in under the wire of my self-imposed 2011 ban on buying fabric or yarn, I just bought yarn at JoAnns. I really miss having a local yarn store. In NY, I had not knit much in the last year, but I am knitting more now and all the acrylic at JoAnns and Michaels is not gonna work for me. Good thing I have a healthy stash.

Oh my. The one glass of wine has made me so overheated! I may have to rethink my outfit (wool sweater and turtleneck).

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

That things is heavy as hell though; it will probably outlive me.

SRSLY. We have to keep the KitchenAid mixer in the pantry and bring it out when we need it, because we have no counter space to just keep it out. And DAMN, is it a heavy bastard to move around.

found Sofia bubbly-in-a-can at my supermarket! I was wanting something bubbly for tonight, but it's just me, so a bottle would be A Little Much.

Since we're staying home and Tim doesn't drink, I'm in the same boat. I found a 3-pack of wee bottles of champagne. I'll be slightly ashamed if I drink all 3.

So, this yarn exchange thing - how would it work?

I'd love to have a kitchenaid, even for my only seasonal baking. They appeal on all levels. Alas, there is NOWHERE in my kitchen for one, not even really for operating one. So.

So I just took Loki for a walk. It's been awhile since it was so cold, but since it is nice out. It went like this: Loki goes for a walk. Loki eats some grass and smells all things. Loki gets brave and bats at my neighbor's water feature. Loki gets really involved in something that is smelly. Lady with a baby strapped on and two large dogs approaches. Loki, the idiot, notices and does his "I only greet strangers with BIG DOGS" routine and then the dogs see him. Loki thinks, wait, those are BIG DOGS. OH FUCK. Inflates, hisses, flees. 5 feet up a tree. Then OH SHIT I'M UP A TREE AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. Luckily, he has a human, so after a few piteous cries from my still inflated cat, I rescue him.

Always something with that one.

Sumi, I am thinking just like the polish exchange, putting skeins in a box you don't really want anymore. We'll it through a list where people take what they want and add more to the box, then send on to the next on the list.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yarn exchange sounds like an excellent idea. I always have leftover yarn (sometimes in pretty serious quantity) from any project.

I can see the value in a puzzle exchange, also, though I'm not certain I have those lying around...

I'm pretty sure I had other thoughts but I seem to have lost them while typing this much.
