Yay, aren't they awesome? I love my kitchenaid, yes, I does.

I tried getting up several times this morning and it just didn't take. Did rake up my postage stamp and discover my downspout has indeed split a seam, damnit (I was certain it hadn't, this may be a recent development.) I can't imagine replacing it during the winter, but since several of my neighbors have done theirs recently, maybe I can get quotes now.
Motivating to go swim, since they close at 5:30 today.
Definitely am in the thick (hahah) of the headcold right now.
I am awake now, so should probably go greet my houseguests!!
Erin, I am glad you're living your KitchenAid mixer. I got mine for Christmas about 7 years ago and have used it twice. 2011 should involve a mixer-use goal for me.

Doesn't posting count? Morning!
Wow, Apple's tech support is kind of blowing.
Liese, I have become oddly invested in your SO's travails to get home to you. I think perhaps because I don't think I'll have my SO with me tonight. I just spoke with him and MiL has a resistant infection in her lungs. fie! I'm bummed because I suspect this means she'll be sick for a good while.
Happy New Year, Billytea!
The weather here is chilly and bright: it was 37 when we ran in the woods this morning. And now I have cleaning and cooking to do, because I spent all day yesterday reading Yuletide on the futon.
I'm having a quiet night in with a friend who lives around the corner, and I'm hoping I can talk her into watching Truly, Madly, Deeply, which a friend of my sister's found a dvd of used somewhere. Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson, yay!
Tomorrow I take my nieces out for dim sum before they go back to college: I expect the line to be very long.
(1) The Boy wanted to play the I-Have-A-Bug-Story game, so he wanted me to inform you that a bee flew in his motorcycle helmet once when he was getting on the highway. I asked him what happened, and he said, "I pulled over and took my helmet off." I told him he wasn't going to win this game.
(2) The KitchenAid stand mixer IS GOD.

Tep, are you still around? I scampered through and got all caught up just to give you this link, courtesy of seeing WindSparrow's current tagline and realizing I hadn't visited Sleep Talkin' Man in several months:
STM and spouse don't remind me of you and The Boy (or at least the You and The Boy in my brain) as much as that one really raunchy webcomic, and yet they kind of do.
Sorry I missed that last night, but STM is hilarious! I don't know how I've lived so long without hearing of it!
I just bought a Kitchen Aid Mixer last night. Even thought Amazon said it was out of stock, it's shipped already. I just can't resist the sale/rebate combo deal.
I've resolved to be on a shopping ban this fall (with a few exceptions, and foodstuffs, of course,) so I guess this is my way of going out with a bang.
ETA: The exceptions are a few Kindle goodies when my Kindle arrives and a reasonably priced runner for my hallway, if I find one.
I may have to make bread again, which I haven't done since college! That things is heavy as hell though; it will probably outlive me.
Cake is out and cooling, and smells like heaven. the sangria is in the icebox, and also smells awesome and tastes great.
I have a hair appt at 4:30, which I needed, since I haven't had it cut since April; pure luck I could get in on NYE!!
