This is pretty nifty. A preacher in Amarillo said he was going to burn the Koran at a local park. Not only did a bunch of UUs show up to protest, but a skaterdude swooped in and snatched the Koran from the grill. [link]

Oh, man, the quote from skaterdude is hysterical.
LOVE IT!! "Dude - you *got* no Koran!"
Speaking of Detroit, I saw this series of photos linked on Twitter the other day, and it's just jaw-dropping.
Those are horrifying and so sad.
Those are horrifying and so sad.
And yet a lot of the shots are hauntingly beautiful. It really is unbelievable to see, though. I knew Detroit was in a bad way, but I had no idea it was like that.
Kat, the type of yoga Colin was doing was "hot" yoga. Is that trendy bullshit?
Hot yoga has been around for at least 10 years. I use to have an ashtanga yoga class that followed a hot yoga class. That was not an entirely pleasant experience.
It's been trendy for a while, ita. Some people love it -- it's yoga done in a roon generally heated to above 100. Warmth loosens the muscles and generally allows people to get into poses deeper. Some people also believe sweating gets toxins out of the body.
I can't stand hot temps, so I haven't done it. I have friends who have, and they said it was good, but the heat really wrings you out.
I read those tweets, and was superjealous of ita for a while, for being friends with someone who goes to yoga with Misha Collins. I might suffer through hot yoga for that!
Just got home from KCD's b-day party. The more I get to know his gf, B, the more I like her. It seems kinda mutual. That boy is screwed if they break up. Added bonus - she gave up a couple of bottles of canned peaches. Will tuck those away for the dark of winter.
Colin knows full well how I feel about Misha, and is not above taunting me. Hmmph.
Ashtanga yoga is the only yoga I've really done, and it was taxing enough for me, thanks.
