I am glad things are better now than they were this morning, msbelle. I hope tonight is better as well.
Natter 66: Get Your Kicks.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Good news, Perkins!
And my sympathies, msbelle. Wish there was an easy solution for you guys.
I am in my new office. It has a window! First office with a window I've had in over 10 years! It looks out on the driveway and I don't get any direct sunlight but still! Window! I can figure out the weather for myself.
Awesome news Perkins!
Talk with the teacher, and ask him/her to go over it and sign it. Most teachers will not blink an eye. This is one of the skills that teachers need to be working on with kids, so it is not an unusual request.
Other than that, obviously, I don't know all about how Mac relates to issues, so I don't have great advice about incentives/consequences. It just rips my heart out, msbelle, that you just wanted to be a parent so bad, and even though having Mac in your life is fulfilling, it's so much damned harder and painful than was hoped for. OTOH, I am SO glad that Mac has you -- imagine how utterly awful his life would be if you were not in it.
You have my respect and my hopes for shit gettin' better.
We have our first gum-in-hair emergency. Any tips aside from cutting?
Peanut butter! I, uh, learned that from Encyclopedia Brown. I don't know whether it actually works.
Although, really, it should be "VULjazzling.
It simply should not be.
Perkins! Congratulations on your non-mutant status!
OK, in "my diamond shoes are too tight" news I have too many mangoes.
I've had an upset tum for the last few days (nerves I suspect) and the thought of anything uncooked is overwhelming. All that Greek salad chopped up in the fridge? All those carefully-purchased-in-degrees-of-hard mangoes on my counter? All in terrible danger of being pitched if my innards don't calm down soon.
Any suggestions on how to use or preserve a whole bunch of ripe mango? I generally have them for breakfast with cottage cheese and there are three big ones lying on my counter glaring at me as they get softer...
Oh, my god, file, you can not be 80MB! Not allowed!
Mondays should never be busy. It's just not fair.

Peanut butter!
Buy coconut milk. Pour over mango. Eat.

They did a show on this with Tom from Queer Eye. They tested peanut butter, olive oil, ice, and something else. I think that the olive oil won, but I can't swear to it. Clearly, this is not helpful, but it's all I've got.
