Well, then, this is a day I'll feel good to be me.

I've decided to rename my children Frick and Frack, which is better than K's choice of lucifer and upchuck.

It's been a long, long, long day. I'm in a hotel bed which is good. But fuck. I'm tired.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I hope I'm still swimming when I am 90, should I make it to 90:

LOVE her. One of my fencing mates is a 79-year-old dude who started fencing in high school. He took some time off (for a few decades) but came back to training as a "fuck cancer" move after they announced 70+ world championships right around the time he was diagnosed with lymphoma -- took (sometimes slow-motion) lessons right through chemo, and is currently the first alternate for the US world team. He's waiting on the news from USA Fencing and for his first grandson (who will be a 3rd-generation fencer, of course).

Cantankerous old sonofabitch, but I'm sure as hell hoping to be exactly the same way when I'm 79.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I had an ex name my mom's goldfish this. He swore he knew which was which. One survived when the huge tank smashed in the Landers quake. I don't recall which now.

He also named a cat. Poorly.

I should have known from the fish that it wouldn't go well.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My boss was trying to convince me that I'm not too old to take art classes. Way to go to make me feel self-conscious. Of course I'm not. Sure, I kinda think that way, but it does sound stupid, especially coming from someone that doesn't know you real well.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, I just got off the phone with someone I don't talk to very often and I spent the first half of the conversation thinking she was someone else I know who has the same first name. I don't think it was obvious to her that I was that confused.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

And serial posting to say that I think Lucifer and Upchuck are great names. Maybe better for pets than kids, but still.

I know a cat named Lucifer and a dog named Chuck...and two named Chunk...but no Upchuck. I may suggest my friend with the hurling Shih Tzu rename him Upchuck. It does seem to be his raison d'etre. At least when he stayed with me it was.

I've begun my weekend by spending ungodly hours trying to combine 21 pdf files into one 'handbook' for my dog clients.

Many hours and 4 downloaded apps have finally seen the completion of this task and I'm fairly stoked.

I'm running a 'sale' this weekend, which reduces the hourly rate significantly enough that I wanted to leave the responsibility for printing the handouts to the owners.

In the process, I realized that it makes much more sense to do it this way. Now folks who are actually going to read/use the documents can get them before I arrive and have questions prepared and the ones who won't ever actually read these carefully produced gems will not be responsible for killing trees.

Everybody wins.

More than anything, I'm chuffed to have vanquished a software problem without having to crawl, whining, into the Tech thread.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Good onya, bonny. That's tedious work but it pays off in the end.

It really does!

I've been planning to produce an 'ebook' for paid download since everyone in my biz seems to need a product of some kind. This little victory puts me one step closer. So, that's cool.

My ongoing stress lies in the fact that my computer is a G5 powerpc that cannot be upgraded and the non-intel chip has been abandoned by developers. As a result, I have to scrabble for previous versions.

Still. The computer works and this product worked...and was free, so bonus!

Now that it's 3am, I'd better get some sleep.

Sweet dreams all.
