Much NO MORE DRAMA for your brother, amyth. That's freaky.

Sue, I'd keep her at a safe distance.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think the pleasant exchange already fulfills any obligation to politely respond you might have. You're done.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much good resolution~ma to your brother, amyth.

So what are people doing this weekend?

I have a flying club field trip tomorrow. We're flying from Sanford, NC, to Hickory, NC, to visit an aviation museum of some sort. And then we're going to Charlotte for a different one. I didn't really pay attention to the details, as my main goal is to spend a goodly chunk of Saturday flying around the state in a small plane. I won't be doing the flying, but it should still be fun. We'll be taking a Mooney M20J, one of the club's few retractable-gear planes.

6 more spindles stripped. I was all congratulatory that these went faster, but then, half were already half to a quarter done. Duh. Now they get harder to do.

I really need to start on detail work and the stain soon.

I hope I'm still swimming when I am 90, should I make it to 90: [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Home!

Hot second turned into a cool hour. I just couldn't work out when to leave. And my boss gave me serious puppy dog eyes when I finally did.

Not being able to hang out last minute on a Friday night isn't weird, is it? For whatever reason?

He cornered me into a conversation about my art. So not on my list of stuff to share with co-workers. But I was completely frank (and insecure) with him. He was very earnest.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

A lot of my high school friends are going to the shore this weekend, for one last weekend before summer is over, and they're all posting on facebook which Jersey Shore cast people they saw at which clubs. It's simultaneously hilarious and horrifying.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't think so. But I could never go out straight from work because of my CSA pickup, which might be the lamest legitimate reason ever.

My complication is always my swim (eta: and the cat shots.) It's better if event is post-7:30. It sounds kinda lame to be all "can't now, gotta go to the pool" but it is something I need. Which is why I'll be driving 14 miles round trip through Labor Day while my pool is closed.

Man, never good when I go to care for the geriatric dog and he's up and about. Pee everywhere. At least there are tarps. And THEN, he goes out under his own steam and heads to the neighbor's yard, which is fine, but then I hear this mournful bark. He's out sitting in the yard, clearly can't get back up. When I slung the towel under him, he headbutted me and licked my knees and kept tucking his head against me. Apparently very grateful for the aid. He's so funny; he likes to lean on me when he eats. He's already sitting, but if I am nearby he arranges himself to lean on me. I'm sure some of it is the deafness, needs to know where I am, but even if I am in front of him, he does it.

I am glad I went, because I wanted to say goodbye to the team member that's leaving. And because of another, extended, team member I can't get to be pally with me in the office was actually quite friendly once he got a beer in front of him.

I'm sure he won't be pally again Monday, but it's nice to know he has a heart. Now I'm all grumpy because I can't make him my friend. This is...stupid.
