Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think my plans for tomorrow are to drop off an end table at a donation place, then go to synagogue, then pick up an end table that I bought on craigslist, then maybe either garage sales or go to the cheap furniture store that's having a clearance sale. I don't like doing all that other stuff around synagogue, but everything here is closed on Sundays. Living around here, I'm starting to understand why some of the early Reform congregations in the midwest held services on Sundays instead of Saturdays. I'm probably going grocery shopping on Sunday, since I need groceries and grocery stores are among the few things that are reliably open on Sundays. (Well, at least the chains are. The little health food store is closed.)

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

You guys are the best. HONESTLY. I love you.

Oh, Middle Brother, you drive me cray-cray. I just got off the phone with him, and he somehow managed to turn this whole thing into a convo about how men in our family don't live past 70, and how that's probably okay anyway, because he hasn't adequately planned for retirement, so he'll probably just work until he dies.

Please, darling, let's make this all about you.

Scola, thank you. I'm not sure when a good time for me to come to NYC will be yet, but if I do, I'll let you know. Beyond hoping for the best on Tuesday, and trying to get as much info as I can, I'm in a holding pattern at the moment.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

God, amyth. Here's hoping for the best for your bro.

ita, you can totally just go for a second and have it count.

Presents look like they will be clothes and books; it must be all downhill from six.

Do you know the AA Milne poem about being 6?

My weekend plans include: clean all the things, watch a lot of TV, possibly go to the beach, usual Sunday dinner with family. And I just came back from being measured for my custom! made! suit! It will be charcoal with a pink! lining! Good times.

Craaap. I thought a nice after-work cocktail would be a good idea, but now I'm afraid I'll never get off the sofa. My CSA stuff is still on the counter!

Matt, you didn't like Indian food!? Crazy man! I know you enjoy food, and Indian food is delish!

My plan foe the weekend: hope some damn body shows up at my house for my birthday party tomorrow night. Am feeling cranky at the number of friends who can't come.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I randomly decided to dig a bottle of wine out of the shed - my "cellar" has been boxed up for at least three years, looks like 4 cases though I think one of those is at least partially not wine. 2005 Hagafen Sauvignon Blanc. Tastes pretty good, which bodes well for all of it not being ruined by my slapdash storage methods.

Amyth, much ma to your brother and yourself.

I am making a sauce from real tomatoes for the first time ever. There are still a lot of seeds in there, despite me trying to deseed the tomatoes.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

We are almost to Houston. I woke up earlier to find that hubby did not know that you don't go through Austin to get to Houston.

I will not kill him.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

This weekend? I have the boy all weekend when I was hoping to sleep as much as possible. Not that I don't love having him around, I was just looking forward to some quiet time with no one else around.

Instead there is karate group class and then a demo over at the Denver Convention Center. There will be house cleaning and some work. And I'm still determined to work in as much sleep as possible.

So in the ongoing saga of my crazy ex-BF, her disappearance from the wedding: I checked one of my email accounts that I never use yesterday, and there was an email from CEBF, written during the time of the wedding dinner. She said how she thinks of me warmly, and how I appear in her dreams all the time, and through her many years of Jungian analysis, she knows that I am a positive symbol in her dreams.

She did not mention once why she bailed on the wedding.

The polite me feels I should respond, but I really don't know what to say. I was glad we could have a pleasant exchange ove the weekend, but really don't want to open the door and let her back in my life.
