Nothing ~ma to Drew.
Zen, skunk oil is just that - an oil. So if you can figure out where, exactly, it hit her and wash that portion with something like dish soap which is designed to lift oil, without spreading it, that's all good. Also, when my dog stunk of skunk wiping her down with Listerine seemed to help.
I know exactly where the spray hit him! It left a yellow streak in his white fur. It nearly got him in the face, which would have been much worse! I hope this has taught him that being outside is not so great.
He was outside for *hours*. I was up until 3am. We're so close to a road, I don't even want to think of what could have happened. My sister might be right that our mom is watching out for us.
OK, first, Dawn dish detergent. Then, if that doesn't work and I still have hands left, I'll go buy some tomato juice.
Tomato juice is another remedy I've heard, Zen. Poor kitty. And poor your house and you. Skunk is not nice.
BT, sorry about the election outcome. May some good still come out of the new.
I need a helmer
But do you have a spreadsheet?
When I was a kid a Samoyed dog (loads of white fur) that lived up the road got sprayed by a skunk. The tomato juice treatment took care of the scent. It also turned his fur pink. I thought it was lovely, but the dog seemed kinda bummed about it all.
I hop whatever is up with Drew isn't too serious, Pix.
OK, bazillion errands have been run. I now have more stripper, groceries and gloves.
Fingers crossed that all is now fine with Drew.
I should probably get in on this round of the polish exchange; I have a ton of great colors I never use, and surely someone else can get some pleasure and use out of them.
I still have the box, JZ; do you want to get together next weekend and go through it? That would also give me time to do some more culling and maybe add some more bottles to the box before we start the new round.
Zen, we used an Internet recipe of hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and baking soda when Byron got sprayed. I'm sure you could google it. It worked really well (though his gray fur had bleached orangey patches for awhile).
So I just had to go rescue my neighbor. See, she's up on her kitchen balcony, working on the rail. And in order to keep a wasp from getting inside, she slammed the door. With the handle locked. I just happened into the kitchen and she's gesticulating wildly at me. Luckily, she gave me her key a while back, so I was able to go over and let her in.
Man, that's one of my nightmares. And it is really hot out there today.
