So I just had to go rescue my neighbor. See, she's up on her kitchen balcony, working on the rail. And in order to keep a wasp from getting inside, she slammed the door. With the handle locked. I just happened into the kitchen and she's gesticulating wildly at me. Luckily, she gave me her key a while back, so I was able to go over and let her in.

Man, that's one of my nightmares. And it is really hot out there today.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

OK, tried the Dawn dish detergent remedy. It got a lot of it out, I think, but there's only so much lavage the cat will put up with. Now I'm worried that I didn't get all the detergent out. He's licking himself, so he's probably going to throw up either because of the detergent or the skunk oil. I think I'll wait for a while before I try to pour any other liquids on him. Poor thing is quite bummed out. Oh, he just walked into the den, so at least he's not hiding anymore; that's a good sign.

I feel so bad for him! And me and the other cat, but mostly him. It's my fault; I should have replaced the bent screen ages ago. But it wasn't loose, and I never thought he could push it hard enough to bend it right out of its frame. How did he even get the leverage? Damn.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Chumley surprised me once by jumping out a first floor window that didn't have the screen down on it. I wouldn't have thought he'd be that brave, or foolish. It was at least a six foot leap... I guess he was motivated.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hope Drew is okay and heading out of the hospital by now.

I have not gotten a headstart (or, hey, and kind of start) on anything I'd wanted to do today. I should get moving.

I'm disappointed. The white blouse I bought from Modcloth is transparent enough to clearly show my bra from the back. Since they doubled up the fabric in the front, I'm guessing that's deemed acceptable. I just don't dig it, though.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Healthma to Drew.

Went to Annapolis with my folks. Walked around the Naval Academy a bit, then got lunch. It's very hot out.

While cleaning I found more bills. That is really just not good.

mac has a playdate over. They were supposed to be electronic free, but they are watching a movie.

I unpacked another box, emptied out a shopping bag of desk stuff and am halfway through emptying another box. Discovered I have an entire desk drawer of notecards, envelopes, postcards, and greeting cards. ridic.

Okay, clothes tidied up. That was way too big a job. I wonder if I will actually make it, you know, out of the house.

Because books.

I'm watching Moulin Rouge (and, um, singing along) while sorting and packing. I'm actually making some progress, but man, the urge for a bonfire is still right. there.

I am listing things on craigslist. Nothing of much value, but I'll feel better getting rid of some stuff and getting at least some cash.

captain's bed
concrete pavers
plastic bins
