Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

If I had more free time, I would have freecycled or craigslisted them, but I start meetings tomorrow, start teaching on Monday, and still have to get all my stuff at my house and office organized, so I realized that I don't really have time to wait on craigslist people.

Yeah, Hil. That's a lot.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Jesse, that is what boarding at a vet's office is especially for (what my parents used to do with their old and weak cats when they went on vacation).

sarameg's stripper talk still giving me just a frisson of cognitive dissonance.

I'm having a great deal of fun posting suggestive statuses on facebook.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oh, what do you think of this scenario

Well, I have healthy indoor/outdoor cats that I'm willing to leave for a week at a time without supervision*. I have no idea about the needs of diabetic cats, but have had experience with last-minute boarding situations where they were just plain full and unable to take pets in at the last minute. And maybe finding a pet sitter who is also able to take care of the needs of a sick/special needs animal might also be especially hard. /your pet anxiety may vary

*I have automatic dry-food-feeders and a water fountain and there's a stream across the way. I'm more afraid of them being trapped inside while the apartment burns around them than coyotes or fischer cats or cars. I also hold to the "humans won't die of dehydration for three days" mantra.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And maybe finding a pet sitter who is also able to take care of the needs of a sick/special needs animal might also be especially hard.

But I'm saying! That's why there are professionals! And it's not last-minute. I think it's just a matter of not seeing all of the options.

Just playing devil's advocate: just cuz it's last minute doesn't mean the kennel/s isn't/aren't booked up for July and August for the next five years.

Or maybe they just really don't want to go, in which case, I wouldn't want them to come.

Yeah, I'm just annoyed on principle. Which I'm pretty sure I caught from my mother. Oh well.

Because books.

That's why there are professionals! And it's not last-minute.

I can't see missing a wedding for it, so I'm with you. There are plenty of reputable places to board the cat for the night, and her vet should be able to recommend one.

At least, not a wedding I wanted to go to.
