I'm having a great deal of fun posting suggestive statuses on facebook.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ha! Good.

Oh, what do you think of this scenario

Well, I have healthy indoor/outdoor cats that I'm willing to leave for a week at a time without supervision*. I have no idea about the needs of diabetic cats, but have had experience with last-minute boarding situations where they were just plain full and unable to take pets in at the last minute. And maybe finding a pet sitter who is also able to take care of the needs of a sick/special needs animal might also be especially hard. /your pet anxiety may vary

*I have automatic dry-food-feeders and a water fountain and there's a stream across the way. I'm more afraid of them being trapped inside while the apartment burns around them than coyotes or fischer cats or cars. I also hold to the "humans won't die of dehydration for three days" mantra.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But I'm saying! That's why there are professionals! And it's not last-minute. I think it's just a matter of not seeing all of the options.

Just playing devil's advocate: just cuz it's last minute doesn't mean the kennel/s isn't/aren't booked up for July and August for the next five years.

Or maybe they just really don't want to go, in which case, I wouldn't want them to come.

Yeah, I'm just annoyed on principle. Which I'm pretty sure I caught from my mother. Oh well.

Because books.

That's why there are professionals! And it's not last-minute.

I can't see missing a wedding for it, so I'm with you. There are plenty of reputable places to board the cat for the night, and her vet should be able to recommend one.

At least, not a wedding I wanted to go to.

Jesse, that's kinda crazy. That's boarding time. Or a real flexible petsitter with gloves if the cat is like Devi. Also? It's not ideal, and it depends on the cat, but one shot missed is not the end of the world. I've occasionally forgotten in the mornings (thinking I've done it as part of my autopilot morning, but then discover an unused syringe when I get home and more pee in the box than usual.)

I am spoiled in that Mister Kitty LOVES people, I have a good professional sitter (who I still need to pay from the wedding, ack!)and I now have neighbors and nearby friends who can pull duty when needed. But still.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Salmon frittata for dinner tonight! It's really good. I didn't even know what a frittata was, and now I r eating one.

I had a cousin miss our grandfather's funeral because she'd already booked a vacation on a cruise ship down off the Keys.

Some people are just shitty.
