Lindsey: Why--why did you... Lorne: One last job. You're not part of the solution, Lindsey. You never will be. Lindsey: You kill me? A flunky?! I'm not just...Angel...kills me. You...Angel... Lorne: Good night, folks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

BOYS!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For ita - a shirtless Alain Delon: [link]

When you look like that you get to have sex with Catherine Deneuve.

Going back, I forgot to reply to Cindy about the face mutilation. You're right, of course, that there's a power to the face and our sense of identity. There's that whole subgenre of melodrama about women whose faces are scarred (notably, A Woman's Face in both its Ingrid Bergman and Joan Crawford versions). And a whole subgenre of horror films as well (mostly deriving from Eyes Without a Face). But also the tradition of The Man Who Laughs.

But I also think I react to institutional cruelty and mutilation. Where it's culturally sanctioned to cut somebody's hands off for an offense. Not just torture but redefining somebody's body against their will.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm not sure I would have noticed this had it not been pointed out....

But now I can't un-notice it....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, I have literally no meetings next week. And both of the coworkers I talk to the most, as well as my boss, are out of the office. Theoretically, I will Get Stuff Done. Realistically, I will be bored out of my skull.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Well, especially given the composition of that shot...

Surely, they have to have noticed...

Seriously, every corporation needs a "That's what she said" intern. Just some college student to run things by, and see if they giggle uncontrollably.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I emailed HR this morning asking if I was to remain an employee into next week since no one had asked me to turn in an updated letter of resignation yet. I have never received one official thing from HR about transitioning to a consultant. My boss had emailed me two weeks ago that today may be my last day as an employee or maybe the 13th. Today, no word from anyone. I feel like I have given them over half the day. I am over my required hours for the week, so I am going to log off and be done. right?

Oh dear.

But that did make me laugh....

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The Internets have already taken that and ran with it: [link]
