Happy birthday, Scrappy!!
I'm still very sleepy and would have liked to have stayed in bed, but darn that work thing, I had to get up and get dressed.
Tomorrow morning, I'm taking the cat in for her claw-trimming, but after that I have very little to do. I might go out and see Inception.

Happy Scrappy Day! Infernos for all!
I'm going to a bbq this afternoon. I am still tired from yesterday's bbq, so I expect the rest of the weekend will be puttering around the house and sleeping a lot.
For ita. And anyone else who likes the SPN boys and lots of shots of hands.

When you look like that you get to have sex with Catherine Deneuve.
Going back, I forgot to reply to Cindy about the face mutilation. You're right, of course, that there's a power to the face and our sense of identity. There's that whole subgenre of melodrama about women whose faces are scarred (notably,
A Woman's Face
in both its Ingrid Bergman and Joan Crawford versions). And a whole subgenre of horror films as well (mostly deriving from
Eyes Without a Face).
But also the tradition of
The Man Who Laughs.
But I also think I react to institutional cruelty and mutilation. Where it's culturally sanctioned to cut somebody's hands off for an offense. Not just torture but redefining somebody's body against their will.
I'm not sure I would have noticed this had it not been pointed out....

But now I can't un-notice it....
Wow, I have literally no meetings next week. And both of the coworkers I talk to the most, as well as my boss, are out of the office. Theoretically, I will Get Stuff Done. Realistically, I will be bored out of my skull.
