Was that the plane that crashed into somebody's house, killing three people (IIRC)?
Ack! I'd heard it was only the pilot.
Horrible in any case, but more so now.

Yikes.
I can't thank you guys enough. Here's my general plan. I'm thinking of it as a cycle so Monday makes more sense when you see what Saturday and Sunday are.
Monday
Baked goods (leftover)
Salad/no cook
Meal from staple goods + (this means staple plus something bought from store on Sunday)
Tuesday
Quiche or casserole (leftover)
Sandwich & Snack (sandwich with staple + meat if + was meat, otherwise whatever is on hand)
Frozen dinner
Repurposed staple
Wednesday
Cereal/toast & fruit
Slow cooked meal (left over)
Frozen dinner
Thursday
eggs, meat, toast/pancakes
Sandwich
Favorite
Friday
Whatever is left
Whatever is left
Out or grill
Saturday (Shopping Day)
Quiche or casserole
Salad + whatever
New recipe/cuisine
Sunday (Slow cooker day)
Baked breakfast
Sandwich
Slow cooked meal
We are on our own for Breakfasts and Lunches except for Saturday Quiche will be done together. I will do the baked breakfast. Jon will do the Thursday breakfast. I will cook Monday dinner, Jon will do Thursday's and we'll do Saturday's together. Either of us can make the slow cooked meal, and either of us/both can do the Grill when we do it. None of the others has to be cooked. So that means neither of us ends up cooking alone more than 3 or 4 times a week.
That's a good plan, Daisy. It's got a nice mix of stability and flexibility built in.
DJ, I notice you have a slow cooker. Do you want me to send you some recipes? I have some all typed up here at work.
Can you put the grill on top of the microwave?
My toaster oven lives on top of my microwave. I hate losing counter space, especially as I have so little of it.
Daisy, that plan looks good.
Living alone, I have a hard time doing a daily meal plan but I shop for staples and meals. If something is not a staple or for something specific, I need to rethink buying it. Even if it's shelf stable because that way lies things that live in the pantry forever and are never used.
When I was cohabitating and we both worked long hours, we'd plan meals a week in advance. Sundays were the farmer's market and then Trader Joe's and then grocery store. It was a nice habit once we got into it. Especially because it meant fresh flowers every week too.

Well, I'm not Daisy, but since you have them all typed up... t bats eyelashes
Tracy Morgan Attacked By Shark On "Ellen" (VIDEO)
Tracy Morgan recently appeared on "Ellen" - most likely to promote that awesome Richard Pryor shirt - and his fear of sharks was revealed to a live studio audience. During the interview, Ellen veered the conversation in a "Jaws"-centric direction. It was the perfect set up for the surprise attack.
