Thanks! A guy who works tech squad at Best Buy was selling me on an Asus, but I can't find any reviews online. And I found a Toshiba with the exact specs, so.
My poor, overworked, reconditioned Thinkpad is about to get handed down to the kids, I think.

Ditto this. Also, I have an old Toshiba laptop that, AFAIK, cannot be killed. It's been upgraded with lots of memory and new gizmos, and it's still going. If it weren't so heavy, I'd carry it everywhere.

The guy at Best Buy said he had two -- one for gaming, one for school -- and he definitely seemed to know what he was talking about.
