Boo! I decided I could justify spending the money on an NYC haircut, and my stylist is all booked! I wonder if she would squeeze me in anyway.
Any thoughts on Toshiba laptops?
I've only had Toshiba latops, using each for 5+ years.
The only reason I bought new ones was that I broke the screen on the first one and had to upgrade the second to be able to use iTunes.
This one has been fine except it has a tendency to overheat and eventually shut down when overworked (playing CDs/DVDs, downloading into iTunes, etc.) Which usually means I've been on the computer too long anyway, so I live with it.

I've had several Toshiba laptops and had great performance from them.

And crew. Don't forget crew. Why no, I didn't break my ankle falling off a stage. Nope. We won't mention the hairline fractured skull from a falling barndoor. Don't think glow tape would have prevented that one.
I love my Asus, though it's a netbook, not a full-fledged laptop.

Ditto this. Also, I have an old Toshiba laptop that, AFAIK, cannot be killed. It's been upgraded with lots of memory and new gizmos, and it's still going. If it weren't so heavy, I'd carry it everywhere.
