Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's one freestyle skier.

Hmm. He makes me wonder if he's competing for us for the reduced qualification pool.

I have such a kd lang girlcrush. My taste in ladies I'd switch teams for (as opposed to ones I just think are pretty) isn't the femmest.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Which makes Kiefer the Nephew of universal health care!

Grandson.

His mother is a great advocate of her father's legacy, and she and Keifer have done cmapaigns and speeches to support universal health care when there's been talk of moving to a two-level system.

Isn't his grandfather the father of universal health care? That makes universal health care his mother's brother/sister/sibling.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear Kiefer is a good grandson and/or nephew of universal health care.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Accomplished so far today: two rounds of dishes-doing, hallway swept, took Matilda to a Valentine cookie decorating playdate over in megan walker's neighborhood (accomplished, miraculously, with a parking spot half a block away, in the shade [bright sunny neighborhood, bizarrely], with no parking ticket), stove/oven scrubbed down and completely degreased, living room picked up and vacuumed, last of the Christmas stuff returned to storage, entryway vacuumed, kitchen swept and recycling taken out.

Matilda is presently sacked out snoring on the couch, and I've taken a catching-up-on-all-the-threads-and-chowing-down-on-sweet-Maui-onion-kettle-chips break. Next up is either scrubbing out the bathtub or defilthing the kitchen floor. Both sound so fun and tempting, I just can't decide.

For the present, I am going to ignore the twice-Matilda's-weight sacks of laundry yet to be done. I can only move one mountain at a time.

Because books.

Accomplished so far today:

Good god! That's more than some people do in a week! You deserve a break, babe. And a big, big drink.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Next up is either scrubbing out the bathtub or defilthing the kitchen floor. Both sound so fun and tempting, I just can't decide.

I vote 'righteous rain to wash the scum off our streets'!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Perhaps in 3 or 4 weeks.

Good god! That's more than some people do in a week!

I don't know whether it was a downside or an upside of the playdate that I got so discontented and irritated with our own place. It was in an apartment not really much larger than ours, but infinitely better laid out (oh bowling alleys, how I hate you), plus the kid's dad is an artist and so everything just looked so interesting and balanced and appealing. If I can't redo everything here the way I want to, at least I can make sure the stuff that's here is clean.

You deserve a break, babe. And a big, big drink.

After David and Emmett get back from baseball practice.

Matilda's now up and mildly peeved that I ate all the Maui onion kettle chips, so we may have to go out for a bit. She wants me to wear her meerkat hat on the outing. Fortunately, we'll be going to Haight Street, where mom in a meerkat hat and toddler in a pirate dress (thank you, Amy!) will be merely mildly eccentric rather than Crazy Lady, Someone Call CPS!

Excellent! And hey, I think a pirate dress is in anywhere.

I hate the end of Pretty in Pink so fiercely. And yet I watch it every time.
