The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My father just sent me a really depressing email about his health.

Getting old SUCKS.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thanks, java! I've been trying to distract myself with season 4 Buffy. I wish I could explain how this feels, and I know it's a bit ridic because it is just a game, but thinking about the game and the joy my friends and family are experiencing right now makes me tear up. As does all of our friends who have been rooting for us here and online.

New Orleans is still going through a tough time, but I don't want to say only this could lift the city's spirits. If you've been down there since, you know that they are in pretty good spirits. It's that we are rightfully proud of our team and this group of guys that seem to really love and be proud of the city.

After feeling like New Orleans in particular, but Louisiana more generally gets sort of a bad rap sometimes, it's nice to be able to point to this (and I don't mean a superbowl win really, but the individuals and the spirit that makes up this team) and say "this. This is how we feel." The Saints' story is kinda the city's story and I am full of pride for both of them no matter what happens in a couple of hours.

OH MY GOD! THE SAINTS WILL PLAY IN THEIR FIRST. SUPERBOWL IN A COUPLE OF HOURS!!!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Getting old DOES suck. Mightily.

Laundry is running and basic chores are done. No big party plans, but CJ and I will turn on the game later. There is food in the kitchen, but I have no ummmph to make it into anything.

OK, between me, 3 other neighbors, a trapped visitor and his 2 adult kids, we cleared maybe 1/2 the street, McKewin to the alley (which the usual crew had cleared.) 20 more feet or so and I can get my car OUT. Not back in, but it is progress. And a friend from around the corner stopped by and he helped too. Plus, he has a truck and has been able to drive around, so if I need a ride somewhere, I've got him.

I'm sore. And need a shower. I've spent over 5 hours shoveling today.

Shower, then laundry. I may head over to above friend & his fiancee's later, I dunno.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Calzones are finished! Ginger ale is fizzed! I am ready! Go Colts!

(And of course, I am on the opposite rooting side from Daisy Jane, my sporting nemesis!) But I must say, I am totally okay with the Saints too. If the Colts have to lose to someone, I`d be honored for it to be to the Saints.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Heather, is it weird that I'm almost crying over Drew Brees' interview with Katie Couric? Stop manipulating me!

While exchanging my shoes, I got complimented on my choice of shoes, got some sun, and walked a couple of miles.

Librarian Warlord

Getting old does suck. Best to you and yours, Perkins.

My car is free. I hope the guy who decides if I have to go to work tomorrow also shoveled all day today so he knows what it feels like.

I'm gonna have to go take pictures tomorrow. Some of the walls and mountains we built are truly impressive. Or maybe appalling. SHITLOADS of snow.

I feel like I've swum 5 miles. And I have a blister. I really hope the Y opens tomorrow because I think it'll help stretch out the kinks.

Making dinner now. Realized not eating all day+ hours and hours of nonstop shoveling= not smart.
