Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Looks like we're getting champagne and chair massages today to ease the transition. It's something.

Hey, I want that! We're getting...beer with my boss on Wednesday, and I think we have to pay our own way. I'm going to demand chair massages.

At the last buy-out we got stock options. The one before that we got bad management.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Felicity Huffman isn't tall, Aims. You're just out-heighted by two of them.

Hmm. I have a meeting scheduled for the same time as the champagne toast. And I don't know where to sign up for the massages! Chaos!

There is so going to be no work gotten done today. And I was already going to reschedule half my meetings for another time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

ita, you'll be happy to know I have my first krav bruise on my forearm, as Emmett enlisted me last night to work on his blocking drills.

He's still very susceptible to a feint.

Next September when he turns 14 he moves up to the adult classes and will start getting tested for levels.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Felicity Huffman isn't tall, Aims.

She's not? She seems really really tall.

Wow. She's only 5' 5"? I say only because I swear she seems 6' tall to me. It's odd to know I'm taller than her.

Must not tell Joe.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Good. You're not blocking right if there's not bruising happening.

He's still very susceptible to a feint.

Tell him to watch your chest/shoulders and not your arms/hands.

They don't test for levels in the kids classes? However do they keep their attention over the years? I'm not sure exactly how the belts roll over in LA, but you can test up to black belt in the junior classes here.

Always Anti-fascist!

She walks around like she's tall.

That's what I told him! (Something I learned from playing football.)

They don't seem to. Emmett's been going September and there's been no test, even though he's obviously progressed pretty far. I'm curious to see how he'll respond to the higher level of training and tests. I think he'll be into it. He really loves it. He's psyched for every Tuesday and Thursday (when he has classes).

He's also been watching the UFC videos they show in the lobby/waiting area. There's one from a no-holds-barred match that keeps rolling around where one guy punches another gun in the nuts about nine times in a row. (They're on the ground in a grapple, and one guys gets his hand free.) Brutal.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I've never heard a Taylor Swift song, but she is pretty.
