After meetings (and she's said this is what she does for interviews), she likes to send an email and a paper thank-you note. The email says a formal note will follow. Is this good practice, or overkill?
Sending paper after a meeting is tree killing, not just paper killing. I don't get it. An interview is an exceptional situation.
I do mean a fancy meeting with outside people, so more like an interview, but still.
Seems like overkill to me.
Today was supposed to be meeting hell and they keep getting cancelled. Which would be fine, but they keep trying to reschedule for monday, and I'm out then.
For me it depends. Is it a sales pitch meeting wherein you are trying to earn their business? If so, then, no. I don't think it's overkill.

Kind of like that. I will try to stop rolling my eyes.
Bah. For some reason I woke up incredibly irritable today. It's like I feel all brittle...
Today the bus driver was 5 minutes late. Not the bus - it was sitting there at the station with the doors closed. The driver was off in the CTA equivalent of a teachers' lounge, I guess.
Anyway, it was only five minutes. But stuff like that is just irritating me terribly today....
If I were I meeting invitee, even to another company's meeting, there are very few instances in which I'd give extra weight to extra paper.
* Alternatively, I might give them a number that I had inadvertently mistyped. That might still be the rage talking, though.
I may or may not have neglected to change my home phone number when I moved. They have never had my cell number. (and they never will)

I would say overkill, but what business are you in? for something like PR, I could see it maybe. Or if the meeting is a sales pitch.
Ay, the Manolo's blog has earwormed me with the Macarena.
Also, there is SNOW on the GROUND. WHAT THE HELL.
On the plus side, one of my coworkers brought in doughnuts.
If you were getting married and your spouse decided to re-enact a scene from
Superman II
with his friends during the ceremony, and your spouse didn't tell you ahead of time, would you be mad?
The Superman Wedding Video Is So Awkward, It’s Awesome
“Wow, thank you, Superman, for saving us from Zod. Now… it’s time to cut the cake.” HA! Between cringes, I keep hearing Jon Lovitz in my head, yelling, “ACTING!”
I haven't watched this yet. Someone tell us if this is as cringe-worthy as it sounds....
