Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My day should be pretty good -- I'm going to the matinee of A Civil War Christmas, featuring my parents' choir singing beforehand. It should be nice! And I think I'll get the music for Christmas, when I'll be singing with the choir. I haven't sung in years, and they are pretty good, so that should be interesting....

Last night we had dinner with our friend C who has 5 kids ranging in age from 2 to 18. Watching C cook for her brood, it kept Thanksgiving in perspective because she always cooks for 7 or more.

Noah loved being in their house and chased J and her friend (both 9) as they wheeled on wheelies. All of the kids were sweet to Noah.

It was all good, even if it were tiring.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also, is turkey ham a good idea? I think the lack of real ham in my eggs benedict is its only flaw....

I like turkey ham quite a bit, tommy. Especially because I can buy a pretty small turkey ham as opposed to a giant regular ham. But the taste, to me, is more mild than regular ham.

I've been up since far too early. This is just wrong. Went through the mail, cleaned up some.

Gonna let breakfast settle (mmm, pumpkin coffee cake) and go to the pool.

Why would this lefty restaurant I'm at not server real ham? Are pigs treated worse than turkeys? Maybe free-range turkey is available but free range ham not?

I suppose I could just ask, but it's more fun to pose the questions to people who may be thousands of miles away....

Now tagless for your comfort.

Jess, I'm glad D's asking for bagels! Liv always wants Halloween candy for breakfast.

My mother lost her cell phone at an oasis on the Chicago toll road. A kind Wisconsin native found it and met me to return it. I told Mom I'd mail it back to her. She just tried to give me her address over the phone.

It's the house I grew up in. I lived there for 22 years. Yeah, Ma, I remember the address.

Yeah, I like turkey ham, but it's not ham.

That's where I stand. Does eggs benedict normally have ham? I see so many variations on eggs benedict, I don't remember what's usual.
