I'm late on this one, Burrell and JZ, but I'm an Episopalian (Anglican, in Britain) and I love my church. The Anglical Communion is having some major issues lately (particularly around things that interest me, of necessity), but I've found a church home that is liberal, full of beautiful ritual that makes me very happy, and as diverse and interesting a congregation as you could want. And the priest* is doing the blessing at our civil partnership ceremony. It's possible to find all manner of views and styles within the Episcopalian church - it's literally a very broad church. Plus, in the US, it's famously liberal.
Moving on from a church isn't always the right thing for everyone who finds their church/denomination difficult, but sometimes it is. As JZ says regarding toxic church relationships.
*There's a whole sub-section of the British Anglican church which considers itself Anglo-Catholic (i.e. never changed much post-Henry VIII). We're practically Catholic, but usually more liberal and not run by the Pope. This compromise position works very well for me - but I don't know if it exists outside of Britain.

If ever I need reminding that pregnancy really probably isn't for me, I shall remember that one.
I worked with a woman who didn't discover she was pregnant until well in her fifth month -- she was on medication for her alcoholism-induced bleeding ulcers, so she figured her lack of menstruation and other symptoms were related to that. If not for a
doctor
suspecting something was up, I do believe she'd have been surprised on the day of the birth.
(I also understand that her alcoholic boyfriend subsequently refused to believe it was his kid.)
Lost track of her when she left for maternity leave and I then left the job for better places, but I can only hope mom and baby's story took a better turn from there.

Burrell, I have been thinking about taking Noah to All Saints in Pasadena. They do a family oriented service on the second saturday of each month where kids are invited to be part of the entire service.
Anyhow, we should go together. I know Pasadena is a slog for you, but it would definitely be nice to see you.

Seriously, I'm suspicious about that convenient conclusion, because it sounds like a truly elaborately staged suicide.
Also, handwriting analysis? Three letters (F E D) written in haste/with emphasis isn't exactly a large enough sample to put a lot of faith in.
I can't imagine not knowing I was pregnant, even in those first months - the sway of too much walking made me seasick.
My baby girl has her first cold, and is miserable. I wish I could do more for her.
Sparky, I'm glad for mothers today that laudanum is no longer legal, because it must have been a temptation to dose a miserable kiddo.
