Neither does the Necromancer! Either he's being credited for the trilogy, or he did 3 seconds of mocap for that shadow in the doorway.
This has been in debate on Tumblr recently, actually. Err, if the shadow is mocap Cumberbatch, that is.
The Necromancer does make some sort of vocalization thing. I could pull the disc out of my pocket and check (don't ask) to make sure I'm not misremembering, but I'm lazy.

For reasons that make perfect sense to me, there are those who claim his outline is recognizable as a CGIed shadow figure.
Which... yeah, okay. It did kind of look like him.

After the first time I saw it, I had a very strong memory of the shadow being distinctly Cumberbatch shaped, but subsequent viewings have proven me wrong.
(Not saying it's definitely not him either, but it's a pretty generic blurry human coming out of the smoke.)

I love that word. Not just for what it means, though I have no quarrel with that, either.
I considered picking up the Hobbit dvd at Target today but the special features seem to consist of only the video blogs currently available on youtube.
Nothing like the quality of extras for the Trilogy.
