Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

You'd think my brain would be able work out that, if the paper is due on Monday morning and I have to start moving house on Friday, what I actually have is two days to finish the thing. Instead, it wants to play computer games and keeps going "Don't worry! There's the weekend!" OK then.

I think I remember when I had a job, and my deadlines (mostly) went away at 5 or 6 pm. And it was my students who got to turn in papers. Hmm.

IOON, I just rode in a 1971 ragtop Mustang!

This is rather exciting. What colour?*

*Yup. Definitely a girl.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Now I just have to get the word out subtly to my co-workers. Maybe an email.

brillig

dealing with people at school while in this mode has been so pleasant and I feel quite supported.

Honest sympathy is always good.

Whoa. Just started feeling kind of loopy. Tramadol is interesting.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Hil, my doctor started me on it a couple of months ago. It's really helped. Also, I think I hit the side effect jackpot - I sleep like a baby and it's suppressed my appetite.

Eek. I avoid it - it made me sick for about a year. Great pain control, icky side effects. Except for a lucky few. (Enjoy, Toddson!)

Oh, so cool.

When I was a young 'un, my dad had a slightly creaky but otherwise lovely, second-hand red Porsche convertible for about a year - an adventure on wheels. I love driving with the top down. (Which I have experienced exactly twice. I live in a very damp country.)

generally speaking, I don't like ragtops. My bro-in-law had a convertible mustang 5.0. We'd ride down Pacific Coast Hiway with the top down at breakneck speeds. Ouch. Very bad on the ears. Did.Not.Like. I'll take my quiet Prius, thankyouverymuch. But I can't argue the cool factor.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've been surprised that I can still carry on a conversation without shouting when driving on the highway in my Lincoln convertible. Of course, it gets such bad gas mileage that I tend to stick to 65 or 70 mph while on the highway.

Hmm. My shoulder is hurting less, but my back is hurting a whole lot more.
