I have the opposite name problem. My name was number 83 the year I was born, and over my lifetime, I've only met a couple of other Valeries. But, one of the mom's in my after care program is Valerie as well. The other day, I called to ask my big boss a question. He answered the phone, and I said, "Hey, it's Valerie."

Frederick was very popular about 100 years ago, which is why all of those black & white movies from the '30s have a character named Fred or Freddy. Been slipping ever since.

Hah! My real name? Not so popular. Except vaguely so, among...Jewish people. Which I am not. But thanks to Nilly and Hil and others here, along with some stuff from high school and random other stuff, I can fake it pretty well!
