Ginger is a lot snarkier than I am, but that was certainly my second thought (after the first, which was "Time to drop him off a cliff"): if anyone sitting more than a yard away can hear anything from your headphones, you've got the music loud enough to hurt yourself. If you can hear him from 3 yards away, he's going to need hearing aids before he's fifty, the dumbass.
I'm going to buy some earplugs. It seems like the easiest and fairest solution, and there are a bunch of other office noises besides his music that bother me, too.
I wouldn't be that snarky in person, but I'd be thinking it.

Good luck Hil. Its been my experience that ear plugs don't block out as much as you think, it just takes down the apparent volume. Also, not very comfortable, especially if you sip/nibble while working. YRMV. Me? I'd tell him to turn it down.
