Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Preshow: Everyone is guided to their seat in a semi circle about the base of the Oak trees and fire circle, stretching back onto the lawn. The wedding party is in their places, as is D--- with Becca and Sugarplum Faerie. GROOM is on horse. Cheeto, Jazz and the Wood Nymphs are in silent gesture/headset communication.
Will Oberon escort the bride, or is he with the groom's party?

Am willing to bet that this could be practiced in six or seven virtual environments, which is where I thought you were headed anywhoo.
ate pancakes the next day.
Yes, but you are a special make and model.
I will be stocking up on popsicles and Ensure and sorbet and ice cream in anticipation for Monday's epic Removal of the Thyroid
Aims, food-wise, you'll be able to eat anything, really. Since the surgery is outside your throat, there's not any throat tenderness. There is neck tenderness, but that doesn't affect swallowing. Or didn't in my case.
And, ~ma for the surgery. Are you having both sides removed?
I am having the whole, bloody, lumpy thing removed. Plus, possibly, a lot of lymph nodes.

The sorest place(s) you will be then is where ever they transplant your parathyroid gland(s). That was sore for the longest for me and even then it was only a few days.
And, just as an FYI, my scar, 7 years later, is barely noticable. Just takes time to heal. Also, keep it out of the sun. I wore kicky scarves tied around my neck a lot.
I have also stocked up on frozen peas to keep the swelling down. Mostly, I wanted easy food that could be handed to me and not require a lot of thought. Joe will have his hands full with Emeline without having to worry about me.
They transplant the parathyroids?
I had my wisdom teeth taken out without anesthesia (needle phobia) and the procedure included a hammer and chisel (impacted on the lower right side). That day was rough with a capital ROU, but it was no big deal after that. The worst (if poignant) part was the swelling and discoloration which inspired a fellow restaurant diner to follow me into the ladie's and encourage me to leave my 'dirtbag husband.' Bless her heart, my protestations that he is/was a wonderful guy just made her think I was delusional.
From way back:
K can make a bitchin' rice flour birthday cake, I must say.
I'd love to learn any and all non-wheat baking tips. I'm laying off the seemingly omnipresent grain and am much better for it.
I'm loving this
brand
of rice pasta...a LOT. Dumped in a bowl with parmesan, Smart Balance (tm), salt n pepper...it is the most satisfying pasta I think I've ever had. Plus, it has an amazing consistency that weathers leftovers like nothing I've tried before.
Okay, between the wedding script and Ginger's ENT appointment...I'm having Lord of the Rings flashbacks.
Deena! I'm sorry about Aidan's celiac, sweet boy. In some lives we just read ingredient labels all the way through, don't we?
My wisdom teeth extraction was no big. I didn't do smoothies and milkshakes because the dentist vetoed sucking on a straw. Pureed foods were better. Wasn't very hungry for a couple of days, and by the time I was, I could eat anything but Cap'n Crunch.
I hope it's not too bad. I want to see Star Trek ! But I will be in pain or something.
Wuss. Hubby has gone to many a midnight showing of a big movie the day after spinal surgery or with a currently occurring heart attack. You can handle tooth extraction pain.
