[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Vanilla ice cream + milk + chocolate syrup = delicious milkshake anytime you want one.

Mmm. My issue has always been that I don't know how much of everything to put. 1:1:1 ratio of everything usually works? I guess I'll have to experiment. I have been contemplating learning how to use a blender lately, but I don't want to do it while recovering from surgery. Afterward, though, I will have to check some of this shit out!

I have stocked up on soup and pudding and yogurt and mac and cheese and frozen yogurt and ice cream and bananas and Slim-Fast shakes and fruit juice...shit, I'm going to die of hyperglycemia.

Punishingly Intricate

I have the world's crappiest toaster oven now. But I like toaster oven better than toaster because you can use it for small things and not have to turn on the oven oven. But I would be happy to get recs on better toaster ovens.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

For volume - PC, you just put some stuff in, and blend it. If the result is runnier than you had in mind, you add more stuff. If it is too lumpy, you add more liquid. Ta-dah!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Also, avacados. Which, with salt and pepper, are my new favorite snack.

In a rather more pleasant recipe idea than my earlier one, You can make a wonderfully fattening dip by cutting an avocado in half, removing the pit, scoring the flesh, putting crumbled blue cheese in the pit hole, pouring a bit of blue cheese dressing over it all, and then baking in a 350F oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the blue cheese starts to brown. Then scoop out the goodness onto crackers or toast rounds.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Has the oral surgeon told you what to expect? Because recovery from wisdom teeth extraction is no big thing that's going to derail your life.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Polter-Cow, I support the slim-fast idea! Add some higher calorie food into the general mix to keep your strength up. I am always in favour of chocolate milk. Ice cream also good. (And I've just read that you stocked up on all those things and more, so never mind - you'll be fine.)

Deena, I hope everything goes OK with your husband's job.

Health food shops are great for wheat replacements. I don't have celiac, but wheat gives me migraine - these days I like the rice/millet/corn mix pasta more than the regular stuff. Oooh and the rice flour lemon cake you can get my local health food shop is to die for... Hmm. I'd say it was time for a visit to the high street, but it's back in London and I'm up at uni. I wonder if the lemon cake is worth the four hour drive. It's not outside the bounds of possibility.

An almost-all-food post. This is what dieting does to you.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Deena!!! Also {{{Deena}}}!

Morning. Gronk.

Question to dress-making people:

So, if a person wanted to make a backless dress with a built-in bra, using a bra they happen to have to hand (which is suitable to the purpose) then...that should be a doable thing, right?

(When I say "make", here, I should clarify that I actually mean "ask the tailor to make".)
