Ugh. Went out for some beers last night. Feeling it a little this morning.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
You could lose an eye that way!
Like Fay said, you can make soup out of leftovers. Any leftovers.
...anyone else slightly disturbed by this exchange? No? Just me then?
I blend often, but I use the stick blender and the big smoothie cup it came with. No lids at all.
No blender type gadgets (food processors, etc.) in my possession. Too much work - not the blending part; the cleaning part. Although, if the parts for a food processor that get washed can be dishwashed, I may have to reconsider. I'm still not quite used to having a dishwasher (love it though I do).
I always have had some form of toaster oven, however.
Those of you that are hummus-makers - how long can it sit in the fridge if it's sealed in Tupperware?
Depending on how much salt and lemon juice is in there, maybe a week? More? I'm not sure I've ever had any last long enough to go bad.
Also, avacados. Which, with salt and pepper, are my new favorite snack.
Thanks, Jess. I doubt it will last that long, but I wasn't sure it was like, two days.
One note about blenders - they are easy to use, but making sure the top and bottom are on tightly is essential (I once saw someone pick up a full blender container and the bottom hadn't been screwed on tightly ... not as bad as when the top's not tight, but still a mess). Also, the tops are usually a little stiff when they're new but will loosen up as they're used.
This. I've used other people's blenders a few times (for blender drinks), and found out the hard way at a party vw was throwing that not all blenders come apart the same way. Oops. And sorry again about the mess.

Mmmm... I have a Hass ripening as we speak. Nom nom nom...
Vanilla ice cream + milk + chocolate syrup = delicious milkshake anytime you want one.
Mmm. My issue has always been that I don't know how much of everything to put. 1:1:1 ratio of everything usually works? I guess I'll have to experiment. I have been contemplating learning how to use a blender lately, but I don't want to do it while recovering from surgery. Afterward, though, I will have to check some of this shit out!
I have stocked up on soup and pudding and yogurt and mac and cheese and frozen yogurt and ice cream and bananas and Slim-Fast shakes and fruit juice...shit, I'm going to die of hyperglycemia.
Hass' were on sale this weekend - 10 for 10. I bought 10.
