I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

VW, glad to hear.

Looks like just as the Yankee/BoSox game gets rolling, I go into work. That's what dvr is for, right?

hwæt

Don't worry, omnis. By the time you get back from work, the score will be 29-26, and it will only be the bottom of the 4th.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Afternoon productivity may be threatened by neighbors coming over with margaritas

And it's bad because...?

"Stop being such a wanker and put it on."

"You'll pay for this."

I watched it with a friend last night! Yeah, good times.

I've been lazy today

Well, duh. You with the not Skyping me...

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

random work rant deleted.

Hi Shir! I forgot to ask you how do you pronounce "I rock" in Hebrew? Which syllable has the accent?

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Hi Laga!

Which syllable has the accent?

Err. Bunch of them. That's why I didn't say anything about it in the first post. "Ani" is I, me and all of that jazz (there's another word for it, but not a lot use it). The emphasis is on the "ni". "Sholetet"... well, all of the parts get sort of an emphasis to them, but it's mostly the "letet", and the two syllables should be heard clear: "let-et", and roll a little bit the "le" part in your mouth before moving to the "t" end and the next syllable.

Now, that was the feminine way. The masculine form is "Ani sholet", and it's the same, only the emphasis is on the "let" part alone.

I really hope that explanation was clear enough.

I think so. I bet I can get my point across to the next Hebrew speaker I meet.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Shir, you speak Hebrew? My other half is from Israel. I have been trying to learn Hebrew for about two years now. Even went to a class. The frakking letters are so difficult that I'm not getting anywhere. I plan to try again when I'm having a break from my studies next year. I do love the sound of the language - very lyrical. I can say a few things. And sing a song about a hat. Yay Angel - good stuff. Season two was my favourite.

Nora, what's your paper on? Are you a fellow grad student? I'm writing a reserch methods paper at the moment, and it's driving me slightly loopy. 2000 words down, 4000 to go. And then I get to start on the Disability Studies paper of the same length (this being my actual MA subject).

Hamsters! Awesome. Mine is less amusing to look at. He's cute, though. And currently approaching four years old. Seriously. We think he might be an immortal.

hard to believe, but for Shir, English is her 2nd language! She's a smart cookie!

Disability Studies? What's the topic?

(not here. I swear. Merely tranferring from Fluffy to bed. See. Sleeping. Really. [i hope])
