Kaylee: You're nice, too. Mal: No, I'm not. I'm a mean old man.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

When is the surgery again?

Not sure yet. Appointment with the surgeon has been moved up to April 24th. I went with a different surgeon in the same practice as the one I was referred to, because he did my surgery when I had my ovary removed and he did my grandmother's mastectomy. I really like him. He really blue eyes. I'm hoping for either May 8th or 20th for the actual surgery. It'll time everything out nicely if I end up having to do the iodine radiation.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Aims, that will probably switch back and forth a million times before Em becomes an adult.

I have a cute kids story! TCG's step-cousin was not there with her cute little girls (the ones that have such a crush on TCG) at Easter Sunday dinner. When they found out they weren't going to see us one of them told their mom that they were said because we were her best friends. She's five.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

we were her best friends

Awwwwww. So cute!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Aims, that will probably switch back and forth a million times before Em becomes an adult.

Kids aren't obliged to be even-handed like parents. Sometimes they just play favorites.

What's happened with Emmett over the years is that the gulf between his clear preference for his mother as a toddler and his affection for me has closed to a mere sliver of difference.

I'd guess that most people have a closer relationship with one parent than another - even if they have a good relationship with both. Let's get some anecdotal evidence to confirm or refute this. Anybody?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm closer to my mom than to my dad. I barely have a relationship with my dad.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Hey Laga, what's the word from yesterday???

still waiting. I should hear today.

I have a good relationship with both my parents but I'm closer to my Mom. That means that when I connect with my Dad on something it feels really special.

“Not dead yet!”

With my kids, it depends on the activity-- they're closer with their dad with respect to things like games, because he plays them as well.

With me, it's music and television and movies that we share closeness.

Maybe when they were younger they had a more marked preference for me because I was with them almost 24/7, but these days, it's fairly equal. I wonder how that might change now that they're heading into adolescence. I know that Nate's getting ever moodier. Oy.

The status is NOT quo.

I have a good relationship with both my parents but I'm closer to my Mom. That means that when I connect with my Dad on something it feels really special.

This is me, too.
