Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Perkins, I'm so sorry. I hope you were able to get some good rest last night.
My family recipe for noodle kugel isn't sweet, no raisins. It's just noodles in an absurdly rich custard, more like a noodle gratin. Consequently the sweet ones always taste wrong to me, like someone decided to put raisins in their mac and cheese. But deep down I know that we're the weirdos.
Anyway all this talk... and I'm seeing my sister this weekend... I think I should try to make a kugel.
Burrell, that sounds good.
Mmm... kugel.
I am more than likely missing my in-laws' Seder tonight. I think if it was just the immediate family, I could handle sitting up for the length of the Seder, but there's going to be a crowd of close to twenty and I'm not sure I'll have the energy to remain upright and social.
I'll beg for leftovers. Shamelessly.

I am spending part of today finding students and apologizing for being a rude Snappy McSnapperpants yesterday. I do not have the patience for this job some days. Thus why I spend a little too much of my time looking at computational and applied math PhD programs, I guess.
Also, it is SNOWING OUTSIDE MY CLASSROOM WINDOW. I know that snow sometimes happens in April up here in the not-South, but STILL. Weather.com insists it's 42 degrees and cloudy, but that is not what I see outside!
To be fair, it's probably a nice sleety/snowy/rainy wintry mix instead of true snow, but either way it stinks.
ETA: Well that didn't last long. Inappropriate snow had ended.
We're going to a play tonight so, no seder. Maybe tomorrow, but I will have to do all the shoppping and cooking for it tomorrow, if so, and I predict that that will probably not happen.
Got my Kosher-for Passover marshmallows, though, so that's good.

Well, I slept five hours too late to go the the sun blessing thing. And now I've got to get ready for Passover. Which basically means packing my suitcase and finishing cleaning the kitchen.
Hil, I'm sure that's a message from On High that you needed the rest more than the special service. You've had a rough time of it lately, with all the pain you've been in, draining your energy and denying you sleep. I hope you have a lovely time with your family.
