I am skipping 700 msgs and may never read them, i apologize for the oversight on my part on taking a week vacation with my mom.
Bonus: still alive after spending a week with my mom. We did fun touristy things in Victoria and multiple locations in and around Olympic Park. At my behest, we drove straight through Forks and DID NOT LOOK at any of the sparklestores. Sorry, it was enough to just be in the area, i could not handle the direct consumer interface. Then we spent an entire day looking at houses (her demand, not my request.) I have more time scheduled on monday to look at more houses with one of those real estate agent people who is supposed to help me do some of my massive massive home-purchase-related homework. buying a house is hhaaaard.
At the Safeway near me, it's kind of hit or miss whether they'll have tofu on a given day.
Well, they want the tofu to be fresh, and the Safeway Wild Tofu Hunters can't always guarantee that they'll be able to catch tofu every day.
What is the problem with Whole Foods? Yes, skippy girl. I go there pretty often.
I've been to Hil's Safeway. It is seriously substandard. (And the one in my neighborhood in DC used to be called the Soviet Subway, so when I say hers sucks ass, you know the scale I'm judging on.) More like a glorified White Hen or depanneur.

The CEO just published a really rightwing conservative harangue about health care and EFCA that was guaranteed to piss off most if not all of the chain's liberal clientele.
Feel better, Seska.
I just made a yellow squash, spinach, and white bean soup for dinner, sort of based on a recipe in this month's Vegetarian Times. It's really simple -- just yellow squash, spinach, white beans, onions, olive oil, vegetable broth, and lemon juice -- and it is so good. Just tastes perfectly summery.
That sounds awesome. I'll haave to try it out.
The recipe called for zucchini, not yellow squash, but yellow squash was what I had. I think mine looks prettier than the picture in the magazine -- more colors.
