[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Seska, I love audiobooks for making long rides less aggravating.

Yes. I got David Sedaris, 'When You are Engulfed in Flames'.

I've gotten other David Sedaris audiobooks for long drives, which kept me very entertained, sometimes to the point of danger, because I was laughing so hard that I almost went off the road. When I went to Cleveland in May, I got "When You Are Engulfed in Flames," and I didn't like it nearly as much as his other books.

I heard another version of FCM, only twisted and awful. For one thing it's Fuck Marry Kill, for another it's... well, here's an example: Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly.

So, it's DINAO.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I've never been able to focus on audiobooks. I listen for a little while then realize I have missed a few minutes. They just don't hold my attention.

me too. My mind tends to wander, so I listen to NPR. I get annoyed when I can't tivo it, though.

Coding and Sleeping

I'm a fan of the audiobooks. I don't have time to read, so my commuting time becomes my reading time. Lately, I'm using my commuting time for thinking about my book, so the audiobooks have been but on hiatus.

Audiobooks don't work on long trips though, but only because I'm not by myself on long trips and DW isn't into having the radio on for anything.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Steph - yes! I was going to say that, except I wasn't sure people would know what it was.

Is maybe glad Emily hasn't been in Natter for a while.

Oh god. Have you been playing that version? Or did someone fuck Bill O'Reilly and it was insensitive of me to mention it? WHAT???

Seska... oof. Explaining Pennsic. Um, it's a war? And there's merchants selling stuff, and... you might be better off googling, I think.

“Not dead yet!”

Not an audiobook person. They just don't hold my attention and I resent not having a book to hold. I don't like e-readers either, although I certainly see their appeal and I think they're a godsend for busy editors and agents, in that they can download multiple manuscripts onto an e-reader rather than lug around pages.

When I drive, I have music and in our family, the rule is, whoever's driving, gets final say on the music choice. Since I do most of the driving... (What? I'm a control freak.) Actually, even when Lewis is driving I have something of a say, because he has a bad habit of falling asleep at the wheel and if he expects me to stay awake and talk to him, then I can't have music on that will put me to sleep. (King Crimson, OMG, puts me RIGHT OUT.)

Best thing we ever did though was buy satellite radio for both our cars. No more searching for stations in podunky counties.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

The cats are onto us in regard to corralling them into the office every morning so that the construction guys don't let them out. It is getting more difficult every day to get them - in fact, Bianca (the oldest) has evaded us for 3 of the last 4 working days. I'm having PG-related insomnia, so I'm already tired and cranky when I wake in the morning and chasing cats around our dirty house really doesn't start my day on a good note.

It is really stressful and I'm starting to resent the cat and get upset with DW because I feel like she's putting the cat above me, her pregnant wife. To me, you try to get the cat. If you don't succeed, the cat stays out and you put notes on all exterior doors letting workmen know to keep doors closed as a cat is on the loose. She says they always leave the doors open and eventually the cat will get out and "will get killed." Granted, we live on a busy street, but the cat would get out into an interior hallway inside of our security building. Chances are high that it would not get out and get killed. Her solution is to keep the cats locked in the office 24/7 until the remodel is over and she will sleep on the futon in there with them, leaving me alone in our bedroom. We have at least another month of the remodel. I am just so frustrated with this stupid situation!

Steph - yes! I was going to say that, except I wasn't sure people would know what it was.

That's what Perkins meant in the quote below:

Is maybe glad Emily hasn't been in Natter for a while.

Oh god. Have you been playing that version? Or did someone fuck Bill O'Reilly and it was insensitive of me to mention it? WHAT???

DINAO has soiled the pristine pixels of Natter.

There's also BINAO (B = both).
