And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

My wife is very disturbed that her parents are reading Glen Beck books. I didn't even mention the Ann Coulter book I saw there.

Dude, I'd do it...what better way to get eulogized on "Countdown?" Which is probably my highest aspiration at the moment.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Seska, I love audiobooks for making long rides less aggravating.

Yes. I got David Sedaris, 'When You are Engulfed in Flames'. I think The Girl had read to me from it before, as some of the anecdotes sound familiar. Amusing and engrossing, without it being a problem if you miss a sentence or two - perfect for 3+ hours on a really dull road.

Emily - Explain Pennsic? It sounds massive fun (especially with the 'not actually having to camp' bit). I go to Greenbelt every summer ( [link] - current front page picture makes it look way more folk-music-y than it actually is), and I'm never sure what to do about camping. Sometimes I brave it, sometimes not. This year I'm in a nearby Holiday Inn. It's not hardcore, but neither am I.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I'm getting a new dishwasher! Woot! My old one was leaking the last time I ran it. I wrote a note to the apartment management on Sunday. They looked at it yesterday and said it needs replacing. I open my front door, and BAM there it is, new, in the box, ready to be installed. When I get home, I'll have a BRAND NEW dishwasher. I hope it's an energy star model. And one I can say, no I don't want to waste energy with the heat dry, just let them drip dry, tyvm.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Seska, I love audiobooks for making long rides less aggravating.

Yes. I got David Sedaris, 'When You are Engulfed in Flames'.

I've gotten other David Sedaris audiobooks for long drives, which kept me very entertained, sometimes to the point of danger, because I was laughing so hard that I almost went off the road. When I went to Cleveland in May, I got "When You Are Engulfed in Flames," and I didn't like it nearly as much as his other books.

I heard another version of FCM, only twisted and awful. For one thing it's Fuck Marry Kill, for another it's... well, here's an example: Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly.

So, it's DINAO.

I've never been able to focus on audiobooks. I listen for a little while then realize I have missed a few minutes. They just don't hold my attention.

me too. My mind tends to wander, so I listen to NPR. I get annoyed when I can't tivo it, though.

I'm a fan of the audiobooks. I don't have time to read, so my commuting time becomes my reading time. Lately, I'm using my commuting time for thinking about my book, so the audiobooks have been but on hiatus.

Audiobooks don't work on long trips though, but only because I'm not by myself on long trips and DW isn't into having the radio on for anything.
