Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Shir, my belated sympathy on the attacks. And I can totally see both how this would be more traumatic because not the "usual" attacks, and a glimpse of how awful it is that there are "usual" attacks.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Thank you, Typo Boy. Are you referring to my post in Natter?

I'm still not over the shock. I have friends, both straight and LGBT, who are now terrified to go outside to their usual places in Tel Aviv. I'm gonna go to a sci-fi con there on Thursday, which will include a drag show, and one of my friends who knew one of the victims said she doesn't feel safe around anymore.

Also, I thought you'll appreciate that I can see the hypocrisy by claiming that there are no hate crimes in Israel. There are, we just don't think of them as such. In that matter, there's a new website which I think you'd like: [link]

Calling all hiveminders!

(Yes, just got back, and already need you. See how my life work?)

There's a Talmudic quote that says "we don't see things the way they are, but the way we are". I already asked some people about it, including our wonderful Nilly, but nobody seems to know exactly where it's from. And I googled and I googled till I couldn't google anymore. Now, can any one of you give me the reference to this quote? Anyone with Jewish orthodox relatives, by any chance?

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I am awake. I have been up all night playing poker with friends (including date girl). I have to be up in two hours to take Drew to LAX. I will probably just stay up (though I have set an alarm just in case).

Our wings are not tired.

{{insomniacs}} It took forever for me to get to sleep, but I stayed in bed anyway thinking rest was better than nothing.

{{Shir}} How very upsetting. Feeling safe shouldn't have to be a rarity.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

{{{{{Shir}}}}} it's good to see your pixels. What a sad, sad, shameful thing those attacks were. I hope that your friends can find a way to feel safe, along with the rest of the LGBT community there.

I did actually get some sleep - but as it has to make up for what I miss on the weekends I work, I'm sitting here with my eyes closed, typing. Occasionally I open them to check that it's not as badly spelled as a drunk post would be.

Sympathies to all those who need sleep, and here's hoping the insomnia fairy will leave y'all alone tomorrow.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

{{{Shir}}} We're particularly aware of the bombings, on account of The Girl being from Tel Aviv - a lot of her family is still there - and (obviously) being gay. A really horrific situation.

So I see the Sunday night insomnia is a global thing. I woke up every hour last night. Now, of course, I want to sleep all day. The brain is a curious thing.

The gronk is so mighty that when I put the cats' food dishes down for them, I had to go back and check that I had given them the right ones.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Timelies.

Shir, I went to bed just after the tackle hug. Clearly that is why the gods kept me awake, to see your pixels.

IOinsomniaN- seems NPR had two reports on sleep studies. One about sleep apnia, and how a custom fitted mouth guard thing can work as good as surgery or the machine thingy (sorry, forget the name, it was in between snooze bar slaps), and the second report was about some new study that suggests as we grow older, it's perfectly reasonable to have a sleep pattern that doesn't sleep all the way through. That is all I recall. I'm sure there will be links on the site later today when the morning show if off the air.

ION. um. OW. legs still hurt. I believe this is customary for day after first real exercise. This only reinforces that I prefer pleasure to pain, and I do not derive pleasure from pain. Why can't the exercise process be closer to the euphoria of orgasm I ask? I think it would solve the obesity problems. Can we fix this evolutionary oversight? Now? k. thnks.

And now I must go to work.
