Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

{{ Glam }} Just focus on the fun of going back to work Monday! :: throws glitter :: Wait a second. I think there is a flaw in my logic there.

ION. I haz noodle legs. Wet noodles. Yes, I just went to the gym and rode the bike for 30ish minutes. Stupid bike. I program in 30 min. I start pedaling. I look down, and it's counting down from 20 minutes. I figure, eh I'll wait to see how blah I am after 20 before I reprogram. At the end of 20, I say sure, I'll soldier on. Then, I was informed, they close at 7 on the weekends. WTF??? Thankfully I was at about 30 minutes. So? How accurate are those calorie burn calculators on the bikes? I'm guessing they are just estimates, as folks bodies react in different ways. Either way, ~100 calories for ~30 minutes/5 miles of bike riding just doesn't seem fair. That's not even that bowl of ice cream I'm going to eat soon to help cool down.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Not even remotely. Don't worry about calorie burn from any one exercise -- worry about strength and endurance, and the big difference in calories burned will come as your overall metabolism adjusts to a higher activity level when you keep it up over time.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My muscles are sore from chasing around a 1 year old all day who just learned how to climb stairs yesterday. I'm going to consider it a workout. I'm sore, but in a it is completely worth it kind of way.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

We helped someone move yesterday . Way too much stuff for 1 person ( no I am serious. about 100 stringed instruments) Sore.

And today a friend came over and took away our green waste. which meant finishing a corner of the garden destruction.

which somehow led to fixing the screen door.

At least there was a burger in there

ugg. Forgot I did "pushups" while riding the bike. That, and the high level you have to hold on to get heart rate. Ya, arms are tired too. Where is my Cabana Girl?

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

And on the opposite end of the spectrum from cabana boy....one of my co-workers ex-stepfather (no, really) who is a local police ofcr sent me an email on our totally public dispatch-mail system asking if i am single and would like to go out for coffee. After, apparently, questioning his ex-stepdaughter about me. All seems to be based on my voice and newness to the job. Oh yeah, i am so the new freshman.

Just in case anyone is wondering, i deleted the msg without responding to it. I prefer to, you know, meet a coworkers ex stepfather before going out on a date with him. *sigh*

not your mom's socks.

Should be Darwin-award material, except there's no death-by-crushing.
