Pete, can you make a trip to e_o's place with a big wooden mallet? Sounds like she could use some help there.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The rep I talked to at Overturn Prop 8 says they're only hiring people with political canvassing experience. Boo. I guess I'll have to get a regular job and then go volunteer for marriage equality.
boo. that's disappointing laga. Funny, I was just wondering how that went, and thought, "oh, that's probably the interview that was tomorrow not today, I'll ask tomorrow". Good luck with the regular job! Any good prospects in the paper? Is CA EDS (I think that was it's initials) helping any?
EDD. That's the interview I thought was today. I registered at their website but I haven't gotten any additional information. I've been concentrating my energy at the career counseling office. They say networking is very very important. So far I haven't picked up the phone to start that process. Even though I know keeping in touch is just good business, I still feel like I'm asking for a favor.
Well, we have unemployed friends and acquaintances -- DH has lots of connections -- and he loves helping people connect. Keeping his connections vital and current helps him too -- Just in case.
Call or email people -- really.
I just emailed the person who I hope will turn out to be my key contact and a reference.
You deserve a cookie, good for you !
We have no cookiesbut I could have a mini drumstick or a good humor bar (chocolate eclair or strawberry shortcake).
That card is just baffling, erin. Also, I'm boggled that you need A/C in PDX; it's just wrong.
Grr argh, Laga, on the disappointing word from the repeal 8 people, but yay on making the contact.
I'm having a stupid hard time getting myself to redo my resume and work on a cover letter for something that just posted at my uni that is basically my dream job (if I must have a day job). I've been home sick all day, and I'd kind of thought I'd be able to use that time to get everything together, but instead I've been in a cold-medication haze; I've managed to watch Coraline and boggle at a whole lot of alarmingly clue-deficient comments on one of the Atlantic blogs (Ta-Nehisi Coates: so many white people being so historically tone-deaf it hurts), but I haven't actually DONE a damn thing all day. Possibly I am in fact sick, not just sniffly.
