We went to the Astros game. We parked at the theater, be because it's free. They said it was a couple blocks. It was damn close toa mike. In hot/humid Houston. Ya, that burned some calories. But, i had a fun day visiting. Now it's sleeeeeep.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Nice Beth, looks like you have quite a project going there.
oh yeah. And it will be cool when it is done. But it is interesting, paying to have something done is much more fraught than do it yourself. But the guy that is going to do the brick work has an artistic flair.
Laying brick looks like a pay someone else job to me.
I think it makes sense this time. We've made a floor from a tree and put down a slate floor. That's lots of new stuff in the last year. And It would be very nice to hae this done by the end of August. ( The last weekend in august is the antique festival -- and 100s of tag sale throughout the neighborhood)
Had a very productive cooking day. I took the pig's head from the pig roast that I went to, and made a nice stock with the head, carrots, celery, onion, parsley, garlic and bay leaves. I stripped the skin off of the bones, and then fried it until crispy (to use as a crunchy garnish for the soup. I took that out, then strained the stock and then put more onions carrots and celery in the pot with the stock and the split peas.
I made rolls, used the dough hook on the kitchenaid for the first time. It made a lovely silky dough that rose nice and poofily.
I was going to stain my dining room chairs, but decided I was being productive enough making baked french toast, stock, soup and bread.
You have been way more productive than me. But I have a swordfish steak marinating in basil and mint and some sweet corn from the farmers' market ready to go on the grill so I'm not as jealous as I might normally be.
You make pig head soup sound delicious.
We are slounging and people-watching in the hotel lobby. This weekend has felt both never-ending and terrifyingly fast. Going back home tomorrow is going to be difficult.
