When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Headline:

U.S. Bank sues Opus to recoup $78 million

Oh oh, I bet Steve Dallas has something to do with this.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Randomly, odd bit of disabled "access" I noticed today:

My favorite was stores with out automatic doors, before the punch plates were put in, would have signs that read something like, "If you're disabled and need our assistance, please let us know", only there was no way to easily get in the store if you're using a wheelchair.

How to make Cheap "wine" with Kool-Aid.

"It’s drinkable after about 2 weeks, but improves greatly after 3-4 weeks."

Define "drinkable..."

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My co-worker says they used to do that with jugs of grape juice as a teen in Idaho. Don't think they used a pin on the balloon, though.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

If you are as Christian as you say, why do you favor the rich so much? Wasn't there some story about a camel, and a needle eye, and better chances of passing that then a rich man passing the gates into heaven???

Well, that's why they have to favor the rich now - because the rich won't get much favor in the life to come. I really get a sick feeling thinking about someone who brags on her own lack of integrity being so insistent a church-goer, and even worse that she is a Sunday school teacher.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I had a little ego boost at work today!!

Background. Our e-mail system SUCKS. Not just because it's Outlook 2000 (or some such). But it has 200 MB space per user. MEGA BYTES. 200! TINY. You get a new script, and a couple revisions. Forget about it. Then, the server is only accessible when you have a hard wire port plugged in to your computer. Fine for the office folk. NSM for the production folk on laptops.

A bunch of us were complaining at lunch one day, and the person who is in charge of the procuring of IT services made a face, and said sternly, and defensively, "look, that shit costs money, and we just don't have that much. Server space is expensive!".

First I was like "dude, get a 1TB drive, and slap it on the server. $150, no problem". Nope, server is off-site, to save $ on maintenance. So, then I researched Google e-mail. If I can get a FREE e-mail account with 25 GB or something, why can't we use their services?!? Turns out we can. $50/user/year. And apparently, it's A LOT cheaper than what we are getting now.

This will open the door to Google Calendars, which import into iCal just fine! And maybe utilize Google Groups to post files that outside artists can access as well as internal employees!

Ahh, my dream of paper free theater is slowly coming to fruition!

OK, now I gotta put the clean sheets on the bed, and go to sleep.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Good for you, omnis! Sweet dreams.

I came across an interesting opportunity today. I had planned on getting a job as an operations manager as quickly as possible since that's where my skills are but I learned in career counseling it's not my ideal job. The problem is it could take months (or forver even) for me to figure out what I really want to be when I grow up.

Then I saw a job ad for grass roots organizers to help overturn prop 8. I'm sure the pay is crap and there are no benefits but I've got COBRA through the end of December and this is something I am extremely passionate about. Is it a crazy idea to put off the "real job" so I can do something that makes a difference while I figure out what my dream job is?
