Xander: Look who's got a bad case of Dark Prince envy. Dracula: Leave us. Xander: No, we're not going to "Leabbb you." And where'd you get that accent, Sesame Street? "One, Two, Three - three victims! Maw ha ha!"

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Good for you, omnis! Sweet dreams.

I came across an interesting opportunity today. I had planned on getting a job as an operations manager as quickly as possible since that's where my skills are but I learned in career counseling it's not my ideal job. The problem is it could take months (or forver even) for me to figure out what I really want to be when I grow up.

Then I saw a job ad for grass roots organizers to help overturn prop 8. I'm sure the pay is crap and there are no benefits but I've got COBRA through the end of December and this is something I am extremely passionate about. Is it a crazy idea to put off the "real job" so I can do something that makes a difference while I figure out what my dream job is?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Laga, If you can afford it, and you are free of obligations that would preclude you from being happy while doing the work, I'd say go for it.

Perhaps you will find your ideal job, or at least a much better idea along the way.

Offerings for librarians

More library humor: [link]

Sample quotes that have kept me up in the middle of the night, laughing:

Customer: *points to my coffee cup* “Give me that! You don’t deserve it. Only rich people like me deserve coffee and tea!”

and

Young woman: “BUT I DIDN’T COME INTO THE LIBRARY TO READ!”

and

Library Patron, looking at keyboard: “These letters are all mixed up!”

Me: “Uh, well…”

Library Patron: “Have they always been like this?”

Me: “Only since the 1800’s. Here, let me do the typing.”

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

omnis, I lost track of where you're going, but have a great time! (Somewhere warm?)

There is a coffee shop in my neighborhood that has a wheelchair/stroller ramp....at the top of a two-step stoop.

My new doctor's office has a lovely long, not-too-steep ramp up from the street to the front door - with a step right at the top of the ramp. Ah, building planning errors.

It's drive-home-to-London time again. Last week it took me six hours to get up here (should be 3 or 4), 'cause traffic. I am very much hoping it will be quicker today. I have new Tori Amos and Guillemots CDs. Wonder if I should get an audiobook from Audible, too...

“Not dead yet!”

Crap.

My throat was bothering me off and on yesterday and I didn't really think anything of it. This morning I've been coughing, these really dry, irritating coughs. I still don't feel bad otherwise, so I'm hoping it's not anything that will develop into something icky. Really don't want icky.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Geez Barb, feel better soon. May it turn out to be some wacky allergy, and the plant only blooms one day every ten years.

Seska, happy driving.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Barb}}} You really have had more than your fair share of icky this summer. Feel better.

“Not dead yet!”

Thanks guys. I just hate feeling like such a whiny git. I so rarely get sick, but it seems as if ever since they figured out the whole anemia thing, it's like my body went, "Oooooh, party time! We have REASONS to feel like crap now."

To which I say, "fuck off."

Besides, tomorrow's my anniversary and we have dinner reservations at a very cool restaurant in St. Augustine-- a branch of one of the oldest restaurants in Florida, The Columbia. Because it started in Ybor City, it's primarily Cuban cooking, with some traditional Spanish overtones.

We both find it highly amusing that we'd end up at a Cuban food restaurant for our anniversary, but our favorite place closed down and every other sort of special occasion type of restaurant in town is either a big chain (Ruth's Chris, really?) or had, God help me, these boring pedestrian sorts of menus that suggested what everyone and their mother thinks of as hip, cutting edge cuisine. Smoked duck breast on every single menu. The steaks with a bernaise sauce. And there's been an alarmingly trendy influx of pommes frites. Because, you know, they can charge three times as much for French fries when they come out in French.

So, the Columbia it is.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

OMG, that wedding video is made of AWESOME and I wanna rip it off if I ever get married. I'd use a different song, though.

Hi Bitches. It's Friday. I have a busy weekend ahead (essay writing, choreographing, roomie screening, photo taking, hermit boyfriend tending, etc) and I wanna get started NOW. Plskthxbye.
